SLW Centennial Hosts the Flight of the Eagle Senior Pinning Ceremony

Our Centennial seniors pledged to graduate on Thursday, November 9, at the Flight of the Eagle Senior Pinning Ceremony.  Thank you to Kyle Greene, Centennial alum, for being the guest speaker.  Thank you to the amazing senior class sponsors, Amanda Mack and Karla Giametta, for always doing their best for our students!  Go Eagles!!!!!  

SLW Centennial Criminal Justice Students Learn about Criminal Investigations from the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Department

On October 5th, Mr. Nichols’s Criminal Justice 3 class at Centennial had guest speakers from the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Department visit them. Sgt. Billy Morash, Sgt. Woods, and Sgt. Richardson from the Criminal Investigation Unit, spoke with students about how the division is comprised, and what it takes to be a Crime Scene Investigator. The students had a great time and were able to ask questions throughout the program. We are very thankful for the support that we receive from our local Law Enforcement Agencies.

SLW Centennial HOSA Hosts Blood Drive and Collects 75 Pints of Blood

On Tuesday, October 3, SLW Centennial HOSA hosted a blood drive. The blood drive was a huge success! They were able to collect 75 pints with 11 of them being platelets! Overall, it was a great turnout, especially for the first one in years.  The blood donations will help to save so many lives!!!  Way to go EAGLES!

SLW Centennial High School Attendance Incentives

Assistant Principal Susan Mannion and school social worker, Shemair Dorelus, paired up to recognize and reward students who are coming to school regularly and on time.  They distributed snacks and water at the parent drop offline as students were being dropped off for school.

SLW Centennial High School Student Participated in the University of Miami and Holy Cross Health Summer Surgical Scholars Program

St. Lucie West Centennial High School student Jazmine Villa participated in the University of Miami and Holy Cross Health Summer Surgical Scholars (S³) Program, a new immersive program for high school students interested in medicine and surgery, this summer.  Over the course of four days, participants shadowed general surgery residents and attending physicians in the operating room, clinic, and emergency room, attended academic lectures, and participated in additional hands-on experiences. “The S³ Program provides high school students a truly unique opportunity to develop early medical interests and gain insight into surgical specialties,” said Nathan Schoen, M.D., M.P.H., cofounder of S³ and chief surgery resident of University … Read More

SLW Centennial Culinary Arts Academy Earns Top Ranking from ProStart

Congratulations to St. Lucie West Centennial High School’s Culinary Arts Academy for earning a prestigious recognition by ProStart. ProStart is a two-year, industry-backed culinary arts and restaurant management program for high school students. SLW Centennial Student Spends the Day with The Bug Bite Thing CEO to Learn About Entrepreneurship

During the Career Connect Conference, SLW Centennial High School student Janelle Palmer won a day with Kelley Higney, CEO of The Bug Bite Thing, a $40 million St. Lucie company that appeared on Shark Tank. Janelle took advantage of the opportunity over the summer and had the opportunity to spend the day learning firsthand about entrepreneurship and running a multi-million dollar business.
