Students and parents gathered for an engaging and informative evening at the recent AICE and Dual Enrollment Information Night. The event offered families a valuable opportunity to explore the benefits of the Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) program and dual enrollment options available through IRSC. School counselors, the AICE coordinator, and IRSC dual enrollment advisors were on hand to answer questions and provide insights into the academic supports available to students pursuing these rigorous programs. Centennial Peer Navigators Coach Freshman Seminar Classes

During a freshman seminar class, the Student Peer Navigators led an engaging activity using the “Rock, Pebbles, and Sand” metaphor to help new students understand the importance of prioritizing their time and responsibilities. In this activity, the “rocks” represented the most important commitments—like family, health, and academics. The “pebbles” stood for secondary priorities such as extracurriculars or part-time jobs, while the “sand” symbolized the small, everyday distractions. SLW Centennial High School students and staff came together to celebrate a vibrant and memorable Homecoming Week from September 22 through September 27. The week was packed with themed dress-up days that brought creativity and fun to campus, including Tropical Day, Heroes vs. Villains, Throwback to a Decade, Soccer Mom vs. Barbeque Dad, and Spirit Day. SLW Centennial has been hosting college visits for students to learn about colleges and universities.  Students have attended assemblies to learn about Florida State University, University of South Florida, University of Miami, University of Central Florida, University of Florida, NOVA, and Florida Southern College. The information sessions provide a structured opportunity for students to learn about academic programs, admissions requirements, financial aid, campus life, and career pathways. SLW Centennial Students Caught Having Fun In History Class

Students in Mr. Swalwell’s World History class are currently preparing for their first vocabulary test, which focuses on key terms related to the Byzantine Empire and Arab Civilizations. To help reinforce their understanding, students worked collaboratively in small groups, actively matching vocabulary words with their correct definitions. This interactive approach encouraged discussion and peer learning. SLW Centennial Criminal Justice Students Visit Court House

Certified Legal Assistant students were invited to attend a Civil Discourse Session at the federal courthouse in Fort Pierce. Students learned about civil discourse and interacted with local attorneys, court staff, and a circuit judge. They also learned about different careers in the legal field and different areas of the law they could practice in. Congratulations to the SLW Centennial NJROTC Academic Team!  They competed in the BOCA NJROTC Brain Brawl Competition hosted on Saturday, September  20th, 2025, against 24 other NJROTC teams. Team Alpha consisted of c/PO3 Andrew Witz-Schaffer, c/LT Brandon Ramirez, c/PO1 Jacob Ramos, c/PO1 Eli Ross, and c/PO2 Brody Nestler. On December 6, 2023, the Legal Eagles Club from SLW Centennial High School went on a tour of the United States District Court in Fort Pierce. Hosted by Judge Shaniek Maynard, the students went from Intake, to the holding cells, to the Grand Jury room, to the Courtroom, and heard from a variety of speakers, including: U.S. Marshals, a Federal Prosecutor, a Federal Civil Attorney, Federal Public Defenders, Probation Officers, Court Deputies, a Law Clerk, and Judge Maynard herself.
