Dr. Stan Forrester’s Honors Physics class made rockets fly! On a bright and sunny South Florida day, students gathered on the practice field, eagerly awaiting their turn to launch their creations. Though not likely found in standard outer space-going vessels, some students chose to adorn their rockets with embellishments. The sky wasn’t the limit for our rocket-building students! The Cobra cafeteria turned into the hot spot for hosting an incredible celebration! Fort Pierce Central honored more than 560 students who achieved significant learning gains on their ELA PM2 assessment! These dedicated students demonstrated the growth targets needed to show academic progress. Central’s Key Club continued their holiday tradition of participating in Fort Pierce’s annual Sights and Sounds Parade. Taking place in historic and scenic downtown Fort Pierce, the FPC Key Club had 244 members walk in the parade. Along with wearing their festival Santa hats, Key Club members carried and waved giant Crayola Crayons in honor of the theme of the parade Color Me Christmas. FPC has the largest and most active Key Club in the State of Florida with 335 members who have amassed more than 2,300 volunteer hours, serving and supporting needs in the community. School Spirit weeks usually captivate an entire campus. In this case, the Fort Pierce Central Administrative Team took a different approach to Staff only Spirit celebrations. In its first-ever week-long event, Cobra Staff had their very own Spirit Week dedicated to collaboration, and comradery, along with a quiet quest to see how long it would take students to catch on to the daily staff spirit concepts! The PBIS Hot Cocoa, Candy Cane, & Reindeer Games was a resounding success, showcasing the positive impact of our school’s PBIS program. During both lunch periods, students and teachers flocked to the Cobra Cafe to indulge in hand-crafted hot cocoa topped with your choice of whipped cream, marshmallows, and crushed candy canes, a reward earned through consistently demonstrating positive behavior. The Annual Poinsettia Luncheon is a much-anticipated holiday tradition in Cobra Nation. Before winter break, Fort Pierce Central freshmen leadership techniques students benefited from in-person visits to sample CTE program offerings. CTE or Career Technical Education courses offer real-world training for students to graduate high school with needed job readiness skills, training, and certificates to enter the working world. These snapshots into Central’s Criminal Justice and Culinary Arts Programs gave students firsthand glimpses into the experience-based and skill-building rigor of these certificate-earning tracks of study. A Fort Pierce Central Production FPC’s talented theater students delivered a spectacular performance of the classic farce “Boeing Boeing” this past weekend. This beloved comedy has charmed audiences worldwide since its debut. Under the masterful direction of Mr. Gabin, the band delivered a show-stopping medley of songs that had both lunch periods savoring every moment.
