Huddling around a bonfire with close friends on a crisp winter evening is something many of us can recall fondly. For the first time at “new” Central, this time-honored tradition returned on Friday, February 7th. As teachers and staff gathered around 5:30, the burn area was already set and ready to light. Master of Ceremonies, Fire Master, as well as SGA Sponsor—Mr. Luca Bradley had the privilege of lighting up the night at 6 pm. Chef Strell assisted in stoking the fire through the night.
As embers burned, students made their way around the back of campus, enjoying local food trucks and dancing to the tunes filling the airwaves from the DJ. Meeting by the soft glow and warmth from the fire, staff mingled and caught up with students—sharing casual conversations back and forth between bites of fresh donuts, tacos, and hamburgers.
The capstone of the evening was the triumphant return of our Cobra Mascot! The special naming ceremony featured Principal Gardner knighting our mascot. The title of “The Mighty King Cobra” was bestowed upon him with the FPC Spirit Stick in front of the entire crowd.
