Technical Design, Robotics, Logistics and Engineering Advisory Board

St. Lucie Public Schools Career and Technical Education teachers in the Technical Design, Applied Robotics, Global Logistics Supply Chain, Aerospace, and Engineering programs virtually met with business partners, Tim Fischer from South East Elevator, Paul Jakubczak from Fort Pierce Utilities Authority, Paul Godfrey from Indian River State College, Muhammed Anwar from East Coast Truss, Maria Brown and Jason Smith from A1 Truss, and Natalia Chekhovskaya from Indian River State College. The group shared experiences, exchanged ideas and will continue to build on this collaboration at their next meeting in December. Big thanks to all who attended!

PSLH Culinary Visits Sunshine Kitchen

Port St. Lucie High Culinary Program virtually visited the Sunshine Kitchen in Fort Pierce. Chef Roland Foerster and his culinary students virtually visited the Sunshine Kitchen hosted by Gina McCants, Sunshine Kitchen Manager and Tcerda Research Park Manager. The students learned about activities at the Sunshine Kitchen and watched a food demonstration by Chef Leslie Moyers and his team.

Cobra Nation Went Orange for Unity Day

On Wednesday, Oct 20th, the sun rose over the east coast, illuminating Cobra Nation in a soft and bright glow. That glow was not just from the sun. The warm colors came on National Unity Day. Fort Pierce Central High School community came together, wearing orange to show unity for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. This visible message affirms that no child should ever experience bullying. If any Cobra experiences bullying, that is one family member too many. EDC Virtual Tour – Warehouse, Distribution, and Logistics Industry

The Economic Development Council (EDC) hosted a live virtual tour for counselors, educators, school and district administration. The focus for the session was on the warehouse, distribution, and logistics industry. Participants gained knowledge from local industry leaders from FedEx Ground Regional Sortation Center, Southern Eagle Distributing, and Walmart Distribution Center. This tied directly to the newest Career and Technical Education program, Global Logistics and Supply Chain Technology. St. Lucie Public School’s Career and Technical Education department is proud to have collaborated with the Economic Development Council (EDC) for this event!
