BUICK TEST DRIVE EVENT WILL RAISE FUNDS FOR HIGH SCHOOL

On Saturday November 11, test drive a new Buick and help St. Lucie West Centennial High School located at 1485 Cashmere Boulevard in Port St. Lucie receive up to $10,000. Garber Buick GMC in Ft. Pierce will have new Buick vehicles at the school for this Test Drive Event from 8:00am-3:00pm.  For each 2-3 minute Test Drive, Buick will donate $10.00.  When the event exceeds 100 test drives, Buick will double the donation to $20.00.  The goal is to reach the maximum donation of $10,000 for the day! White City Elementary Partners with Community

White City Elementary  is partnering with the community.  The residents of the Lake Forest Park Villa Association provided a lobster dinner to support White City Elementary School. A special thank you goes out to the Lake Forest Park Villa Association for supporting White City Elementary.  Proceeds will be used to purchase school supplies for the teachers and students of White City Elementary.

Southport Middle School Sixth Grade Retreat

Southport Middle School’s sixth grade students enjoyed an engaging, positive, and busy day at our annual Sixth Grade Student Retreat. This year’s theme was respect. To begin the day, students met in the gym to give each other positive affirmations in an unusual game of “musical” chairs. They were then split into small groups with adult team leaders and sent out to participate in various team building activities throughout the day to play games and take part in small group discussions. 2017 Florida Art Education Association Virtual Exhibition Winner!

Caroline Duran, Art Teacher at Lincoln Park Academy has once again qualified as a Florida Art Education Association (FAEA) Member Virtual Exhibition Winner.  Ms. Duran was recognized by the FAEA and her peers at this year’s conference held at the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts on October 18th, where she received the Pacon Award for her entry, “Terra Nova,” a ceramic sculpture surfaced with acrylic paint. Congratulations to Caroline Duran for her dedication to her craft!     “Terra Nova”

ST. LUCIE COUNTY –  Social Studies educators from Pensacola to Key West made their way to Palm Harbor, Florida for the 60th Annual Florida Council for Social Studies Conference. Amid their peers, St. Lucie Public Schools educators were honored for teaching excellence. In an awards dinner celebration that carried the conference theme of “Honoring the Past, Preserving the Present, and Shaping the Future,” Nikki Gomez (Rivers Edge Elementary), Lauren Kappler (Westgate K-8), and Lea Ann McCaffrey (St. Lucie West Centennial High School) were recognized for their efforts and strengths in teaching that they bring to their profession and share with others.   … Read More
