St. Lucie Public Schools Provides Nutritionally Balanced Meals During Summer Months

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FL — St. Lucie Public Schools (SLPS) is pleased to provide nutritionally balanced breakfast and lunch meals during the summer to children ages 18 and younger. According to SLPS Director of Child Nutrition Services Deborah Wuest, eighteen sites across St. Lucie County have been selected to serve students (see chart). “All children need good nutrition throughout the year,” said, Wuest.  “We would just like to remind the students to register with the front office before they come to the cafeteria when they are on a school site.”

The Summer Food Service Program will operate during the months of June, July and August.  According to District officials, students are eligible for meals at no charge, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.  In accordance with Federal law, and US Department of Agriculture policy, SLPS is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
