Middle School Visual Arts students created a marbled painting.  They experimented with different water to paint ratios that had different viscos and fluid consistencies.  To do so, they poured their paint mixtures onto their canvas and manipulated it back and forth to create amazing looking patterns.  

CAST eighth graders in Mrs. Dayton’s pre-algebra class integrated art appreciation into their practice of solving pairs of simultaneous linear equations. Students first observed works of art from Louis Comfort Tiffany and the Art Nouveau Movement of the 19th century. Then students plotted points using the given system of lines. Afterwards, they used the lines to create their own pieces of stained-glass artwork.

Second-grade students in Mrs. Bell and Ms. Simmons’ classes created animal habitats after studying about them during reading. As a culminating activity, both classes will present an animal report to our kindergarten and first-grade students. We can’t wait to listen to their presentations.

Third Grade students at CAST learned how animals adapt to their environments to survive. After researching many different types of adaptations, they completed a science task card activity. Students then created their own animals to blend in with their classroom environment using camouflage.

Students enjoyed a 90s-themed PBIS event! There was lots of dancing, smiling, and singing along to 90s hits! Students used their CAST cash earned from good behavior to attend this event. Way to go! 

CAST Members held a Drive-Thru 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony. Students were welcomed by staff members. Dr. Reid presented promotion certificates and Assistant Principal Mrs. Gavoni gave students a CAST cup filled with treats and CAST memorabilia. Dr. Reid shared, “We are truly lucky to have such an outstanding group of young ladies and gentlemen in the CAST class of 2020, we truly miss them here on campus, but we know they will come a visit when the time is right. It was great to see them in person if only for a few minutes.”

Talented dancers in Mrs. Murphy’s and Mrs. Curtis’ dance classes just finished their fall performances. Our outstanding dancers shined on stage as they performed Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, and African-style dance routines.

 A talented group of district staff carolers roamed the halls at the school district offices recently spreading holiday cheer. On Friday, November 15, 2024, the Treasure Coast Builders Association came out to put on a Careers in Construction Day. This event was created to show our students the various careers that are available in our area. Our Stallions moved through 5 different stations ranging from Electrical, Carpentry, Screen Enclosure, Impact Door/Window installation, and our very own SLPS Transporation station regarding Diesel Mechanics. Students spent the morning learning about each career and participating in hands-on events.  At the end of the event, students learned more about professionalism in the workplace.
