The Treasure Coast AFJROTC, POW/MIA Honor Guard was asked to travel to Chicago this past summer by the Folds of Honor National Organization for their gala held in the Aon Grand Ballroom at the Navy Pier. Treasure Coast High Manufacturing/Engineering Program hosts Virtual Field Trip

Phil Depuy, Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Instructor at Treasure Coast High hosted a virtual Field Trip informing students about the Pre-apprenticeship and local Apprenticeship opportunities.  Dawn Riccardi and Marcelo Dossantos from CareerSource-Research Coast presented to the high school Manufacturing/Engineering students.  Local manufacturer Jim Brann of The Porch Factory and apprentice Bobby also presented to the students! Treasure Coast High junior recognized for community service

Congratulations to Rae Duvert for his outstanding volunteerism through St. Lucie County Parks and Recreation.  Rae, a junior at Treasure Coast High School has been recognized as Minsky Gym “Volunteer of the Quarter” for his hard work and dedication as well as his talents and commitment to working with the Junior basketball players. Rae joins the long list of Titans who are making a difference in the community!

Treasure Coast High Hosts Virtual Field Trip to Indian River State College Robotics Lab

Phil Depuy, Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Instructor at Treasure Coast High and his students virtually visited Professors Natalia Chekhovskaya and Paul Godfrey at the IRSC Kight Center for Emerging Technology.  Discussions centered on mechanical, electrical and programming fields specifically Robotics, Photonics, Manufacturing, local employers, and student projects.  Big thanks to Jerry Jacques, President at TCMA and Advanced Machine and Tool for setting up the visit.  Level Up CTE!

Treasure Coast High Hosts UTI-Universal Technical Institute

Treasure Coast High hosted Universal Technical Institute (UTI) who arrived with performance machines! UTI spoke to students in the Engineering and Manufacturing CTE programs about continuing their education and training in the automotive field. Students respected the mustangs!

Treasure Coast High Gingerbread House Competition

Treasure Coast High School Culinary Arts Program hosts the 1st Annual Gingerbread House Competition. Culinary 1 and Culinary 4 students participated entering their Gingerbread Houses in the competition and teachers judging the houses. Chef Marianne Daly commented, “It was a fun event and everyone got in the spirit of the holidays!” Level up!  

Treasure Coast High criminal justice students visit hosted by police department

Treasure Coast High School instructor Leinitia Robinson and students in the school’s Criminal Justice Academy participated in the inaugural Hometown Lunch Fest and Port St. Lucie Police Department Open House.  While there, students received tours of the police department and were informed by detectives, crime scene investigators, the Chief of Police and other key personnel about careers in law enforcement. Treasure Coast High cadets help in community clean up

Treasure Coast High School (TCHS) Air Force ROTC students prepare to embark on another Street Cleaning Mission to keep St. Lucie Beautiful. Beginning in 2008, each month approximately 12 students pick up trash from Port St. Lucie Blvd to Tulip along Darwin, for one mile through the “Adopt-A-Road” program. Under the leadership of Lt Col. Cavallaro and SMSgt. Simmons, these students’ service usually equate to over 200 hours of voluntarism annually. The TCHS Community is very proud of its commitment to service as well as the mission to create well rounded citizens who provide leadership and service to their community.

Treasure Coast High Advanced Manufacturing Students Learn Virtually

Treasure Coast High Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Instructor Mr. Depuy hosted a virtual session with Ms. April Badenhop from Advanced Machine and Tool.  Via Zoom, April covered topics in advanced technology machines, precision measuring, and designing turbine blades.  Big thanks to Mr. Jerry Jacques, Treasure Coast Manufacturers Association (TCMA) for helping to coordinate this virtual learning experience for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering students.  Wow, now that’s a great partnership!  Level Up!

Trash Tuesdays at CAST

Fourth grade students in Mrs. Denman and Mrs. Tyler’s class took the initiative to clean up CAST’s campus instead of having recess. They decided to dedicate every Tuesday to picking up trash around our school. They also used recycled containers to plant seeds! 

Transportation Support at C.A. Moore

Mrs. Berggren (A.P.), Mr. De La Rosa, and Mr. Joseph (ESOL Paraprofessionals) of Chester A. Moore Elementary assisted parents and families with bus information during Open House. They provided bus routes, bus stops, pick-up and drop-off times, Here Comes the Bus app directions, and other useful information regarding student transportation. If families did not have a bus route yet, they also assisted families with registering for one.

Transportation Routing Dept Celebrates St Patrick’s Day

The Routing Staff in Transportation has initiated a Celebration Tree this year in honor of all holidays celebrated throughout the year. All School Board employees are welcome to stop in and see our tree, which continues to change throughout the seasons. Be on the lookout for our UPCOMING seasonal changes.

The Routing Department would like to wish every employee a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!  We all work together to provide the best services we can to the students in St Lucie County, and we here in Transportation, thank you. Transportation Is On A Roll

Special thanks are extended to the SLPS Transportation Team for providing exceptional service and attending to the needs of hundreds of children as they were safely transported to and from summer school this year. Providing transportation for students throughout the District to north and south school sites is a huge task, and our transportation department completes this charge each year with the utmost care and diligence.  Your service is of great value to our community!  

Transportation Hotline

The District has adopted 772-204-RIDE (7433) as its main number for transportation calls.   Improvements to the telephone network and additional staff will support calls to this center as the school year opens.  The transportation call center will be open from 6am to 6pm for the first two weeks of school.
