Incoming sixth graders had an exciting and engaging morning at Southport Middle School during their transition camp. AquaTree Gardens in the Middle Schools

Teachers and students at Manatee Academy, Chester A Moore, Southern Oaks Middle, Northport K-8, and St. Lucie West K8 received their new AquaTree Gardens (the first of it’s kind to be used in Florida schools) using hydroponic technology to grow different types of Microgreens, Proteins, Herbs, and Lefty Greens. In June, the Office of Teaching and Learning (Secondary Programs) brought approximately 70 rising seniors to visit the University of Florida or the University of Central Florida.  The 70 students represented all of our comprehensive high schools. This academically driven and respectful group of rising seniors had the opportunity to receive a 90-minute walking tour of the campuses.
