FPC Opens the House!

Pod teachers in Building 1 South are ready to open Cobra Nation to new family members! Smiling faces greeted new and returning Cobra families at Open House. Students and their families met teachers, learned the lay of the land in Cobra Nation, and were reunited with friends at long last. From a sea of purple & gold in the courtyard to perfectly curated classrooms, teachers rolled out the Cobra royal carpet for families. Mr. Wilder reconnects with his returning students for another engaging year! Teachers make the difference at FPC.  

FPC NHS Induction Ceremony

National Honor Society Inductions of new members are important to all organizations. Members make the difference. Since 1921, NHS thrives in leadership, character, service, and scholarship. So, what makes NHS different? FPC, NHS, & Earth Day!

FPC’s National Honor Society Honors Earth Day! The natural treasure of St. Lucie County, the Oxbow Eco Center proudly celebrated Earth Day 2023. With volunteers from all corners of the county, including Fort Pierce Central High School’s National Honor Society members, the event was a true tribute to caring for our corner of the globe. From set up to clean-up, volunteers took the time to do more than was asked by doing what was needed. Beyond giving back, NHS sets the example for our community to join in and do their part to keep St. Lucie County beautiful.

Fort Pierce Central proudly hosted our 2025 National Honor Society Induction Ceremony this past week. Cobra Nation welcomed an exceptional group of students who exemplify superior qualities and embody the Cobra-Way. NHS is a prestigious organization recognizing outstanding high school students who demonstrate excellence in four key pillars: Scholarship (academic achievement), Leadership, Service (volunteering), and Character (integrity and ethics). Frontiers in History: People, Places, Ideas Fort Pierce Central High students competed in the annual District History Fair. Sponsor and social studies chairperson Mrs. Sharon Ortiz has been leading students in this competition for 13 years. “Every year I look forward to seeing students make deep, personal connections to the history fair topic,” shares Mrs. Ortiz.  This year is no exception. FPC Mini Masterpiece Artists

Ms. Emily Royo’s Drawing and Painting II students participated in the 3rd annual Fort Pierce Art Club’s Magnificent Mini Masterpieces Art Contest & Show. The contest was expanded to Fort Pierce Central and Westwood High Schools this year. FPC Medical Academy Hosts Blood Drive

Mrs. Charles and her wonderfully selfless team do it again! On Thursday, October 24, the Fort Pierce Central Medical Academy partnered with OneBlood to host a blood drive in the school auditorium. We successfully collected 143 units of blood, with each donation capable of saving three lives. Thanks to our amazing volunteers and donors, we were able to save 429 lives! We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the heroes who boarded the Big Red Buses to donate! Your generous act of kindness will make a huge impact!    

FPC Marching Cobras Crowned Grand Champions!

Garden of Shadows Cobra Nation is beaming with pride for our Band Director Joshua Daniels and our Marching Cobras being honored as the GRAND CHAMPIONS of the 2023 42nd Annual Crown Jewel Marching Band Competition! All together our students brought home the Sheila Knight Sammon’s Memorial Award for Best Overall Band in Show. The Marching Cobras also earned Best in Class Music and Visual Performance, Best in Platinum Class, and an overall Superior for Auxiliary and for the Band as a whole! FPC Key Club Sweeps Black History Month Creative Arts & Essay Contest

In Celebration of Black History Month, the Judges of the United States District Court for the Southern District Court of Florida sponsored the creative arts and essay contest. Fort Pierce Central High School Key Club members attended the event. Eddison Petion won Honorable Mention for his artwork and essay while Chaynna Thompson won Honorable Mention for her poem. Congrats to our FPC Cobras for their hard work.

FPC Key Club Participates in Annual Holiday Parade

Central’s Key Club continued their holiday tradition of participating in Fort Pierce’s annual Sights and Sounds Parade. Taking place in historic and scenic downtown Fort Pierce, the FPC Key Club had 244 members walk in the parade. Along with wearing their festival Santa hats, Key Club members carried and waved giant Crayola Crayons in honor of the theme of the parade Color Me Christmas. FPC has the largest and most active Key Club in the State of Florida with 335 members who have amassed more than 2,300 volunteer hours, serving and supporting needs in the community. FPC Key Club has Breakfast with Santa!

Breakfast, Volunteering, Crafts, and Karaoke! FPC Key Club Does It All!   Breakfast with Santa was organized by New Horizons and the wife of Fort Pierce Central High School teacher and Coach Jeff Rymer. Participants were asked to donate unwrapped gifts, adults were charged $5, and children were free. FPC Key Club helped set up tables for kid’s cookie decorating, ornament making, and Christmas card making.  As children had their photos taken with Santa, FPC Key Club members would take the developed photo to the families. FPC Key Club Book Drive

The Fort Pierce Central High School Key Club participated in the Children’s Services Council’s Book Drive. Key Club members collected over 100 books for young readers. The free books are to encourage reading over screen time in locations such as the DMV or Utilities Company where children could be waiting with their families. Key Club members earned an hour of volunteer time for donating a bag of books to the Children’s Service Council. Every child a reader in SLC! Way to go Cobras!

FPC Key Club Black History Arts and Essay Contest Winners

Fort Pierce Central High School Key Club members participated in the 2025 Black History Month Arts & Essay Contest at the St. Lucie County Court House in Fort Pierce. Key Club members and rising stars won first and second places as well as numerous honorable mentions with the contest this year. FPC Key Club Attends Conference

   Fort Pierce Central High School Key Club members attended their District Conference for the first time in the club’s history. The Florida District Education and Leadership Conference (DCON) is the culmination of the Key Club year and was held in Daytona, Florida for 4 days. This annual event is attended by over 2,000 students and chaperones from clubs all over Florida and the Caymon Islands. DCON features educational workshops for club members and advisors, caucusing and election of district officers, endorsements of international candidates, motivational speakers, social events, and individual and club awards. Every year, local students fill out an application, write two essays and are interviewed to compete for a spot to go to Tallahassee for a chance to experience and participate in our states government. Out of all applicants, only 300 girls get this honor. American Legion Auxiliary Unit 318 is proud to give this opportunity to a very deserving candidate. FPC is SAT Ready!

Filling our brains starts with tasty treats, yummy refreshments, and collaboration to fuel ourselves for success! Seniors met in the Cobra Cafeteria with their counselors, success coaches, senior sponsors, and administrators who led student success sessions for best practices for the SAT. Students meet in small groups for SAT prep. Learning together makes in-depth test preparation more successful for Cobras. Best of luck Cobras!  

FPC is Louder Than a BOMB!

FPC Poison Pens Win AGAIN! Fort Pierce Central’s Poison Pens won first place in the state during Jason Taylor’s Louder Than a Bomb Spoken Word Poetry Slam! The Growth is Real with FPC’s New Student Club! Student members of the new Gardening Club at Fort Pierce Central High School have growth at the top of mind! FPC & IRSC Take First at Sunshine Kitchen Cook-Off

On Tuesday, October 24, 2023,  Fort Pierce Central High School senior Aristhene Thelisnort and his IRSC partner Justin Stolaj won first place in the Sunshine Kitchen Cook-off sponsored by the Treasure Coast Education and Research Development Authority. Both students won a 1,500-dollar scholarship to be used to further their education. The winning dish was a Panko-crusted Tuscan chicken roulade with a tomato cream sauce, French pureed garlic potatoes, and sautéed broccoli with diced carrots. Congratulations Aristhene and Justin!
