FPC Key Club Attends Conference

¬† ¬†Fort Pierce Central High School Key Club members attended their District Conference for the first time in the club’s history. The Florida District Education and Leadership Conference (DCON) is the culmination of the Key Club year and was held in Daytona, Florida for 4 days.
This annual event is attended by over 2,000 students and chaperones from clubs all over Florida and the Caymon Islands. DCON features educational workshops for club members and advisors, caucusing and election of district officers, endorsements of international candidates, motivational speakers, social events, and individual and club awards.
For FPC to attend this event it was a herculean effort to fundraise, organize, and prepare to fully maximize our learning experience. As first-timers attending DCON, winning 4 awards including Second Place at the Talent Show for Nico Tovar playing “We are the Champions” on his saxophone, and Second Place for their digital scrapbook created by Anglica Sanchez, this dynamic showing demonstrates the motivation to excel in our dedication, participation, and contributions to outstanding service to our community. The FPC Sponsor, Denise Peschio, won the Best Faculty Advisor Award for the state as well as the Early Bird Award for sending in the dues for over 300 members by November. The awards reveal the extraordinary Cobra spirit exemplified in the FPC Key Club to make our community the best.
