Leadership in Action at Fort Pierce Central

At Fort Pierce Central High School, leadership goes beyond the office—it thrives in the classroom. Recently, Principal Gardner demonstrated his commitment to student success by co-teaching a dynamic lesson on graphing linear equations in Mr. Nerette’s class. Leadership and Service in Action: Lincoln Park Academy NJHS at South Causeway Park

LPA’s National Junior Honor Society students were back in action, proudly partnering once again with Keeping Fort Pierce Beautiful, this time lending their time and talents at South Causeway Park. Leadership and Accountability at Gaines Academy

Some of the 8th graders at SGAET recently had the opportunity to be accountability partners for Ms. LaBare’s class.  They paired up to share their Leadership Portfolios with each other.  Leadership Portfolios are created and maintained by ALL students K-8 at Samuel S. Gaines Academy of Emerging Technologies.  The portfolios are a piece of the Leader in Me program and include each student’s individual goals, tracked data, work samples showing growth, leadership roles, and more.  These students practiced presenting their Leadership Portfolios to each other and provided each other with feedback for improvement.  A big thank you to Ms. LaBare … Read More

Leadership Academy

Congratulations to Mrs. Felicia Nixon and Mr. Adrian Ocampo for representing St. Lucie County as 2019- 2020 Dr. Brian Dassler Leadership Academy participants. Dr. Brian Dassler Leadership Academy, is a year-long, job-embedded professional learning opportunity designed to deepen the leaders’ skills for improving instruction. Over 160 principals and principal supervisors from 53 districts in Florida applied for this opportunity. The Academy represents the top educational leaders statewide, and it is an honor to have them represent the District.

Leaders at CAST

Students at CAST have been implementing principles of the Leader in Me program by assisting around the school. They were paired with a teacher to mentor them and enhance their leadership skills.  Students help in their class by buddy reading, playing with younger students on the playground, and delivering packages from the front office. We are so proud of our CAST leaders! 

Leader of the Month Ceremony at CAST

We are so proud of our leaders at CAST! We are so happy to be able to recognize our Leaders of the Month who demonstrate exemplary leadership skills in the Leader in Me Habit 6 “Synergize”, and Habit 7  “Sharpen the Saw”, in our first live ceremony this year. Our Student Ambassadors helped run the ceremony and our sixth-grade dancers performed. Way to go CAST performers!  

Leader in Me Community Day

Samuel S. Gaines Academy of Emerging Technologies was proud to be the virtual host for a Leader in Me Community Day. The event was attended by school leaders from around our state. The Live Online experience was designed to help navigate this new era of school operations. During the day, attendees learned about the phases of change, how to leverage the 7 Habits in new situations, and collaborate and innovate to find opportunity in these uncommon challenges.

Lawnwood’s TOP Teacher Selected for the Mickelson ExxonMobil Teacher’s Academy!

Lawnwood Elementary teacher of the year, Ashlay Parker , has been selected to attend the ExxonMobil Academy. The selection panel based their decision on Ms. Parker’s “qualifications, dedication to inspiring students, and overall commitment to enhancing the teaching profession.” This selection gives Ms. Parker an opportunity to network with other educators and help her discover innovative ways to teach math and science to her students. Lawnwood’s STEAM Family Night Was a Hit!

Students, parents, and staff members enjoyed using creative and critical thinking skills to problem-solve. Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math education will help our young leopards achieve their academic goals. GO LAWNWOOD!

Lawnwood’s Parent Night

All grade 3-5 parents were invited to attend a Parent Night.  Administration, Instructional Coaches, School Counselors, and Teachers facilitated the event.  Parents were provided a copy of their child’s Progress Monitoring ELA and Math Score Report and they learned how they can help their student master grade-level content skills.  A video was shown to help parents understand computer adaptive testing and parents were provided time to ask questions and discuss concerns.  A special thank you goes out to all Lawnwood Parents for attending this informative session and for all that they do to support our school.  GO LEOPARDS!  

Lawnwood’s Leopard of the Month Assembly

Lawnwood Leopards are recognized for their citizenship every month during our K-5 Leopard of the Month Assembly.  These students were selected by their classroom teacher because they consistently demonstrate P.A.W.S. Lawnwood’s Fifth Graders are Super Scientists

Ms. Jacob’s fifth-grade science students are currently delving into the fascinating world of Earth and Space. Through collaborative learning activities, they have explored how gravity and energy shape the formation of galaxies, including the Milky Way, stars, the Solar System, and Earth. Utilizing various materials, the students created a model of a galaxy, which enhanced their comprehension of its components, such as gas, dust, and numerous stars along with their orbiting objects. This hands-on experience has kept the students actively engaged while they identified and understood the essential elements within a galaxy. Lawnwood Students and Staff participated in the Tunnel of Hope We believe that all students are capable of success, no exceptions! To support this vision, several community and school leaders formed a Tunnel of Hope to inspire our students to excel in the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. As LWN students and staff walked through the tunnel, they were celebrated and cheered on by an inspiring assembly of supporters. Lawnwood Elementary students research literary creatures

Students in Shannon Dolan’s second grade class at Lawnwood Elementary are using bubble gum and brace maps to create a display to merchandise their research and writing about the nocturnal creatures that are featured in both fiction and non-fictional literature at this time of the year. Lawnwood Welcomes BMX Freestyle Riders

Come to School!  Arrive on Time!  Stay all Day! Attendance Matters at Lawnwood Elementary School.  The K-5 students who met the schoolwide attendance goal of 92% or higher were invited to attend a BMX Show.  The students enjoyed watching this dynamic duo as they performed bunny hops, track stands, wheelies, 180 Turns, and so much more!  It was another fun day at Lawnwood Elementary School.  GO LEOPARDS!
