LPA Boys Wrestling Team are District Dual Champs

We are thrilled to announce some incredible news regarding Lincoln Park Academy’s athletic wrestling program. For the very first time in the history of our program, the Lincoln Park Academy boys wrestling team has achieved the title of District Dual Champions! They secured this remarkable victory by defeating Cardinal Newman with a score of 54-27 in the finals. Congratulations to the LPA boys wrestling team and Coach Carter on this outstanding achievement! LPA Boys Swimmers Successful at Districts

The Class 1A District 6 Swimming & Diving Championships were held on October 18th at the IRSC Swimming Pool.  The LPA boys team placed 1st and the girls team finished in 2nd place.  The boys were led by:  Dillon Spooner (1st place in 200 IM, 2nd place in the 500 Free).  The boys relay placed 2nd in the 200 Medley and the 400 Free.

LPA Boy’s Golf County Champions

Congratulations to the Boy’s Golf Team (Aiden Shaw, Jaden Peterson, Malachi Davis, Bryce Shaw, Luke Goothouse, and Joey Rizzello) for winning the Al Griffin County Championship on October 15. The boys competed against 7 schools in the county and after 3 years of getting second place, they earned the trophy back! Special congrats to Jaden for shooting a 5 under and winning the individual county championship for the 5th year in a row. On to Districts October 28th! Go Greyhounds!

LPA Basketball Player Scores 1,000 Points

On January 11th, Dyujae (Biko) Gayman scored his 1,000th basketball point as a Lincoln Park Academy Greyhound.  The LPA family of students, teachers, staff, and coaches are very proud of his accomplishment.  Congratulations Biko!!

LPA Basketball Court Naming Ceremony ~ Wendell Adams Court

LPA Band Student Cameron Slack to All-State

Lincoln Park Academy senior band student Cameron Slack has been selected to perform in the Florida Music Education Association All-State Symphony Orchestra. He will be performing at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa on Saturday, January 12th. Congratulations!  

LPA Attends State Thespian Festival

During Spring Break of 2019, the Lincoln Park Academy Theater attended the 2019 State Thespian Festival. The level of accomplishment of the students that represented this theater department was the most impressive that it has ever been. Students were awarded with three superior rated scholarship auditions, all of which yielded interviews for colleges with the applicants for scholarships and training programs.  An additional three were superior rated performance pieces, two excellent ratings, and a straight superior rated Top Honors award on the Large Group Musical Performance. LPA Art Students Connecting Art and Science

Students in Mr. McGarry’s Ceramics classes at Lincoln Park Academy are combining their Geometry skills with their creative abilities to construct ornamental ceramic boxes. They are seen here in the beginning stage of construction, measuring and attaching the separate clay panels. Later the projects will be decorated and kiln-fired to create the finished ceramics pieces. We are excited to see the outcome of the artists’ efforts.    

LPA and Dads: Combo for Success!

On Wed. Sept. 26, we were privileged to host LPA dads as they brought their children to school, showing their committed support in their children’s education and social and emotional well-being. During our time together, we recognized, appreciated, and encouraged dads to continue partnering with LPA and together we will equip “our children” with the knowledge, skills, and desire to succeed. LPA is proud of our dads!

LPA Advances in Digital Video Competition

FORT PIERCE, FL –  Lincoln Park Academy’s Adobe CAPE Academy team moves to the final round of judging for the Kid Witness News (KWN) global digital video competition.  KWN is a global video education program supported by Panasonic, with the aim of boosting creativity, enhancing communication skills, and fostering teamwork through video production by children at the elementary and secondary school levels.   There are currently 553 schools in 19 countries participating in the program worldwide, of which 53 of those schools are enrolled in the U.S. Although KWN represents students from schools across the country and around the world, … Read More

LPA A Team Competes at IRSC

The Lincoln Park Academic A Team did a terrific job at IRSC on September 28, 2023.   There were 8 teams from different high schools and one team from IRSC. The team beat the IRSC team and came in 3rd out of 8! We are extremely proud of this group of young people and how they demonstrated their exceptional abilities and teamwork!  Go Greyhounds!    

LPA 9th Grade MYP IB Students Cruise the Indian River Lagoon in the Name of Science

A group of our 9th-grade students took a research cruise with FIU Harbor Branch Scientists to study the Indian River Lagoon aboard their research vessel. Students tested water quality and biodiversity in the lagoon. They used the ROV to see what was happening at the bottom! After the cruise, we went to the visitor center to see what is happening with Aquaculture at FIU Harbor Branch and their captive breeding program for saltwater aquarium fish. Many people don’t know that Harbor Branch has the largest breeding program in the country for saltwater aquariums!

LPA 7th-Graders Raising Awareness of Centennial Celebration

Mr. Weed’s 7th-grade Language Arts classes helped to decorate his classroom door in anticipation of Lincoln Park Academy’s 100-year anniversary.  In the spirit of the centennial, students traced and cut out their hands in LPA colors, orange and black.  Once completed, the hands became decorations for the door’s theme, “Hands Raised for 100 Years!”.  Each hand represents a current LPA student and his or her connections to the historic school.      

LPA 6th Grade Transition Camp 2023 ~ Simply the Best

On July 27th, Lincoln Park Academy hosted its incoming 6th-grade Transition Camp. Incoming students and parents were welcomed to campus by the proud Principal, Dr. Herrington. Information concerning scheduling, electives, dress code, and cell phone usage was reviewed during the opening session. Students and parents participated in a guided tour of the campus facilitated by the LPA Theater Entourage. Finally, members of the outstanding 6th-grade team provided tips for success as the students transition to middle school. These tips included communication, organization, and grading differences. Love’s Travel Stops Donate $2,000 to SLC Public Schools

Love’s makes a donation of $2,000 to a local school or nonprofit at the grand opening of each new store. The Fort Pierce location at 200 South Kings Highway just opened on May 8, 2014. At the June 10th School Board Meeting, General Manager Eric Wolf was recognized for the donation that will go to the St. Lucie County Public Schools by way of the Education Foundation. Through a grant matching funds, the St. Lucie Education Foundation will match this amount for a total of $4,000 for our public schools. Louder Than A Bomb Poetry Slam

Fort Pierce Central’s “Poison Pens” spoken word poetry team won Semi Finals in Jason Taylor’s 4th Annual Louder Than a Bomb” poetry slam. As one of the final four winning teams in the state of Florida, they move on to Team finals Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 6:00 pm at Nova Southeastern University. Congratulations!

Loretta Adams and Sam Andrianoff Award Winners

On October 14, 2014 the Loretta Adams and Sam Andrianoff Awards were presented in conjunction with the declaration of Disability History and Awareness Month. These two exceptional people left a great legacy. Loretta Adams was the forefront of the inclusion movement and was an advocate for students with disabilities. This years awards were presented to Megan Guyer, Assistant Principal at Fort Pierce Central High School and Kathy Nobel, Transportation Area Manager ESE.
