LPA Students4H2O have a Wonderful Time at Water Fest 2023!

Lincoln Park Academy Students4H2O had another great time at Stuart Memorial Park as they partook in Water Fest 2023! Lincoln Park Academy proudly represented St. Lucie County at this environmental conservation event. Hundreds of attendees stopped by to check out their activity focused on upcycling egg cartons as planting pots. A big thank you goes out to all the administrators, teachers, students, and parent volunteers that helped make Water Fest possible!LPA Students4H2O looks forward to the possibilities to come! LPA Students4H2O Celebrate Earth Day 2022!

Lincoln Park Academy Students4H2O celebrate Earth Day 2022 at their new garden plot at the Fort Pierce Community Garden! Having this plot not only aligns with the United Nations missions of Global Goal 13: Climate Action and Global Goal 15: Life on Land, but allows Students4H2O members to have hands-on interactions with their environment. LPA Students Love the Chess Club

The LPA Chess Club has students learn and show their skills in this fun and historic board game! Playing chess has many benefits, including improved memory, developed perspective and problem-solving skills, and even a reduced risk of developing dementia. Founded this year by Ian Navas, the club welcomes both middle and high school students regardless of chess experience. LPA Students Learn About Enzymes

Lincoln Park Academy students in Ms. Saxton-Hertz and Ms. Bernard – Mark’s IB MYP Biology classes completed the Pineapple Enzyme Lab using gelatin as the protein and pineapple as the enzyme. Students learned how to denature the bromelain from the pineapple by adjusting temperature and pH levels.  This lab directly ties in to  SC.912.L.18.4 and relates the structure and function of enzymes by allowing students to use hands-on activities to become proficient with the standard.        

LPA Students Investigate at CSI STEM Night

On April 4th, the LPA Science Bowl hosted their first CSI STEM Night. Students who attended investigated the case of the missing spirit stick. They analyzed fingerprints and fibers, used black lights to inspect the crime scene, and interrogated suspects – all to find the culprit who stole the spirit stick! School Resource Officers and the St. Lucie County CSI Unit also attended to help facilitate the investigation.        

LPA Students Excel at Science Fair

Lincoln Park Academy Middle School and High School students participate in the the 36th Annual STEM Fair competition! Representing Middle School are Alexander Derrico, Mia Derrico, Gianna Pizzarello, Mason Ricksecker (6th), Autumn Avilla, Elizabeth Cadosales, Anna Keshtmand, Carmelle Wallace, Amani Webb (7th), and Nash Barcelona (8th).  Representing High School are Lucas Huang, Caitlin Deane, Sydney Daniel, David Geraghty, Jesus Rivera Nieves, Maria Nolasco, Lillian O’Neill, Kayla Miller (9th), Victoria Louidor, Jevahiah Septembre, and Alexandria Simpson (11th).  

LPA Students Conquer College Options

Counselors from Lincoln Park Academy accompanied students to the Havert Fenn Center to gain insightful information on various career pathways into promising careers through visiting many of the colleges represented nationwide.  We were also graced to have our very own Superintendent Dr. Jon R. LPA Students Compete in the Florida Commissioner’s Academic Challenge

Lincoln Park Academy’s Mali Kaminaga, Carlos Arce, and Geoffrey Zheng competed as members of the St. Lucie County Academic Team at the Florida Commissioner’s Academic Challenge in Orlando April 21-24. The county team placed 5th overall in their division. In addition, Geoffrey Zheng  was named to Team Florida for being one of the six highest individual scorers in the competition. As a part of being named to Team Florida, Geoffrey also received a scholarship for $1,000.

LPA Students Compete at the HOSA Winter Regional Conference

The Lincoln Park Academy HOSA competition team traveled to their first HOSA Competition on 01/25/2024 for the Treasure Coast Regional Winter Leadership Competition in West Palm Beach. Students Camille Anoos, Nachbi Pierre, and Payton Norkus all competed. Payton and Camille competed in Medical Terminology and Nachbi competed in Cultural Diversities and Disparities. The students had a wonderful experience being able to network and learn more about HOSA from different schools within the region. LPA Student’s Artwork Displayed at Dali Museum

LPA student Bradley Livingston, is a 10th grader whose artwork, “Lively Toes,” has been accepted for the Dali Museum’s Surrealist Art Exhibit in St. Petersburg, Florida.  His work will be displayed together with 100 juried works shown at “The Marvelous, the Fantastic & the Grotesque” Exhibition, May 19th – August 26, 2018.  Congratulations to Bradley Livingston on a job well done!    

LPA Student Takes Home Crown in Miss Florida Junior Teen

Congratulations to Lincoln Park Academy 9th grader Breanna Myles for being crowned USA National Miss Florida Junior Teen.  As Miss Florida Junior Teen, Breanna will move on to the USA National Junior Teen competition where she will have the opportunity to win over $200,000 in cash, prizes, and scholarships.   Good luck at the next level, Breanna!

LPA Student Success Assemblies

On Tuesday, August 22, Lincoln Park Academy students and Lincoln (our school mascot) came together to celebrate last year’s accomplishments and set the stage for success for this upcoming school year. Students participated in a review of school-wide expectations led by Principal Herrington, Dean Cobb, and Dean Harris. Lincoln Park Academy students strive to achieve high academic goals through being productive citizens both within and outside of our school community. Go Greyhounds!        

LPA Student Madison Adkins is the 2022 Sunshine State Scholar for St. Lucie County

Congratulations to Madison Adkins on being selected to represent St. Lucie County as a 2022 Sunshine State Scholar. Madison was chosen based on her demonstrated interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) related studies, grade point average, test scores, community service hours, and essay. Madison and her parents are invited to Orlando on March 31 – April 2, 2022, for a college recruitment fair and a special awards presentation. LPA Student Geffrey Zeheng Named to Team Florida

Geoffrey Zheng  was named to Team Florida for being one of the six highest individual scorers in the Commissioner’s Academic Challenge competition. As a part of being named to Team Florida, Geoffrey also received a scholarship for $1,000.

LPA STEM Students Investigate Pulley Force

Students in Mr. Logue’s STEM Science class investigated how pulleys affect the force needed to move objects.  Students were engaged in the practice of science by performing an investigation using pulleys.  First, students had to construct the block and tackle pulley system.  Then, students had to determine how the system affects the force needed to move the object.  Through this hands-on experience, students gained a better understanding of how pulleys work and how simple machines make work easier.

LPA Spring Senior Athlete Signings

On Friday, April 15th at Lincoln Park Academy, we had the honor of congratulating four more of our seniors.   Each student athlete has committed to their college and/or university to further their education and continuing their sport of choice. They are as follows:  Taylor Sukmana: Golf – Palm Beach Atlantic University; Brooke Johnson: Swimming – Florida Atlantic University; Anthony Marian: Soccer – Florida Southern University; and Aidas Kavaliauskas:Swimming – Florida Atlantic University.  

LPA Spring Centennial Career Expo

The Lincoln Park Academy Spring Centennial Career Expo was such an amazing event. Twenty-three former graduates were featured and also shared their expertise with our high school students. Students were able to converse with our LPA Alumni about the educational requirements for their career, the pros and cons that come along with their job, and also what they love most about their career. It was such a joy to see our former graduates shine! The day was an absolute success!             +      

LPA Speech and Debate Team Make Their Mark

The newly formed Lincoln Park Academy Speech and Debate Team can boast of great accomplishments during its inaugural year as all six members qualified for State and one member qualified for Nationals. Team members Aaron Address, Jennifer Barajas, Daphne Bellot, and Zyla Marc qualified for State in the Program of Oral Interpretation. Alyssa Monaco also qualified for State in the category of Declamation, and Donald Smith qualified for Nationals in Dramatic Interpretation. Coaches Debra Scherer and Stuart Address are proud of the team and looking forward to next year.
