Magnificent MSE Students

Students in Mrs. Eibl’s second grade class read THE MOST MAGNIFICENT THING this week in class. It’s about a girl who has a plan to build something but she can’t get it just right! She overcomes obstacles and manages her emotions in order to finally build The Most Magnificent Thing. Students had fun planning, designing, and building their own projects!

Magician Mesmerizes the Students of Floresta

Students at Floresta Elementary were truly awestruck by the captivating and mesmerizing tricks performed by the Magician Jamie Porter as part of the school’s Positive Behavior Intervention & Support. Students were charged 15 Dolphin Dollars to participate in the magic show which was held in the school’s cafeteria, on Friday, May 17. The magician performed amazing card tricks and tricks with bags and ribbons that boggled students’ minds.  Some students described the event as entertaining and exciting, while others said that the magician was very funny.  All in all, the magic show was a refreshing and delightful experience for the students at Floresta Elementary School. LWP Teachers and Staff Get Pie in the Face

Students raised money last week for PBIS incentives. Students placed their donations in the jar(s) of the teacher/staff member(s) that they wanted to see get a pie in the face. The winners of this contest were: Mrs. Walukiewicz Mrs. Gomez Deputy Duren Ms. Steward Ms. Fisher Mrs. Rivera The pie-ing took place in the cafeteria on Thursday, September 9. Three students from each class had the opportunity to purchase a ticket to attend. Tickets cost 30 Falcon Bucks. In addition, one student from each grade level got to pie a teacher/staff member. All other students watched via TEAMS.

LWP Field Trip to the Smithsonian Ecosystem Center

Fourth-grade students at Lakewood Park Elementary had an incredible time at the Smithsonian Ecosystem Center. During this field trip, students visited the aquarium, explored the touch tank, and experienced seining. They enjoyed learning and interacting with ocean wildlife!

LWP Drive-in Movie Night

Lakewood Park Elementary hosted their first Drive-in Movie Night sponsored by the PTO. Students created their own cars and left nothing to the imagination.  Great job students!

Lunabiotics brings creativity to Southern Oaks

Representatives from Florida Institute of Technology’s Lunabotics team recently visited Southern Oaks Middle School to meet with the students whose team took fifth place last spring among 50 international teams competing in the fourth annual NASA Lunabotics Mining competition. The team came to Southern Oaks and put on three presentations: the first session involved dissecting an edible asteroid, where students looked at all the layers and were then able to eat it; next session, students were given characteristics of  a creature and based on those characteristics they then had to draw what it looked like; and last, students were shown the robot that was used … Read More

LTAB Poetry Spoken Word Recognition

Students who participated in the Louder Than A Bomb (LTAB) Poetry Spoken Word Competition at Nova Southeastern University were recognized at the school board meeting on April 28, 2015. LTAB was founded on a student-centered, educational philosophy geared toward young people ages 13-19. The “trick of the poetry slam is to use the guise of competition to attract interest in the telling of stories through the written word.” The most critical component of LTAB is the year-around, meaningful instruction inside the classroom with teachers who create and facilitate a safe space for individual and collective self-expression. LPA’s Sydney Daniel Selected To Be a Member of SAAC

The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) has announced the new members of the 2024-2025 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). This year, the FHSAA will be welcoming in nine new students into the committee, along with seven returning members. The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) was established in 2008. The committee serves as a critical link in identifying topics, issues, and concerns that face the student-athletes of the State of Florida. This year, the Association received over 60 applications from students across Florida. These members were chosen based on their sports participation, extracurriculars, essay, and leadership skills. LPA’s Senior Mia Morrison Wins Again

We are so excited to share that LPA’s own, Mia Morrison, was selected as the 2023 Saint Lucie County Youth of the Year for Boys & Girls Clubs of Saint Lucie County and the 2023 Florida State Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Clubs for the second year in a row!  Mia is the first youth to garner these distinguished wins in succession.  Congratulations on doing a stellar job!    

LPA’s Sandy Gomez Wins the BCBS of FL Cheribundi Boca Bowl Art Contest

The annual Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl played at FAU stadium in Boca Raton hosts a fantastic art contest in partnership with Palm Beach and St. Lucie Public Schools.  Lincoln Park Academy Junior, Sandy Gamez, had her art work selected as best in the district at the high school level.  The competition asked students to depict the connection between “health and football” in a small work of art.  Mr. McGraw explained, “Ms. Gamez considered different contexts of football and health issues while composing her work and chose to render her picture in black and white … Read More

LPA’s NJHS Serves Our Community

On Tuesday, October 29, Lincoln Park Academy’s National Junior Honor Society contributed 138 cans of Chef Boyardee to The Giving Concert in honor of Grace Packs.  LPA teacher and NJHS adviser, Dr. Rennaker, asked the members to contribute cans to help Grace Packs accumulate food.  Grace Packs is best known for sending backpacks of food and snacks home, with eligible elementary and middle school students, on Fridays.  9th grade LPA students, Olivia Costa and Victoria Townsel, volunteered to pack up the boxes and deliver them to the auditorium.  These members are also working on two contests: club t-shirt design and … Read More

LPA’s National Honor Society’s Adopt-a-Road Project

The ‘YMEDACA’ LPA National Honor Society has completed yet another successful road-cleaning! Every early dismissal of every month NHS heads on over to Midway Road to participate in these cleanups. This is the 7th cleanup of the year with 3 more to go. NHS has been doing this for many years, which demonstrates their commitment to keeping Fort Pierce beautiful and clean. They do this in conjunction with volunteering at the Treasure Coast Foodbank every other Thursday, to help the less fortunate by organizing and distributing food around our community. LPA’s National Honor Society, led by Presidents Noah Fox-Goodman and Alexandra Watson, went out to Sportsman’s Park’s Trunk or Treat event to bring smiles (and treats!) to children this spooky season. There were so many kids! Hopefully our skeleton didn’t scare them too much…

We are extremely excited to announce that LPA’s own, Mia Morrison, was selected as the 2022 Florida State Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Saint Lucie County.  We are so proud of Mia’s hard work, her dedication to the program, and the way that she confidently represented Saint Lucie County and Lincoln Park Academy. On Sunday, December 8, 2024, our amazing group of eighty-two Lincoln Park Academy Key Club members participated in the Color Me Christmas Parade in Fort Pierce. The event was filled with festive cheer as our students showcased their spirit and commitment to community service. They spread joy throughout the parade, embodying the true essence of the holiday season while engaging with the local community. LPA’s Juniors Are Committed to Graduating

Lincoln Park Academy’s Class of 2018 is committed to graduating! On October 26th, LPA juniors participated in their annual C2G ceremony to reaffirm their commitment to graduation. All 218 students shook principal Henry Sanabria’s hand to show their commitment to working hard, coming to school everyday, and finishing high school strong. Students also received a keychain tassel to remind them that “the tassel is worth the hassle!”
