Medical academy students participate in disaster drill

St. Lucie West Centennial High School students in Mary Higgins’ and Elizabeth Durkee’s first responder and other medical academy classes participated in the recent Operation Home Run disaster drill. The exercise was held throughout the county at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, St. Lucie Medical Center, Met Stadium, and the new Martin Memorial Medical Center in Tradition. St. Lucie West Centennial students were located at St. Lucie Medical Center. When the students arrived, the volunteer moulage artists brought real medical scenarios to life. All students did a really good job acting out their parts. ST. LUCIE COUNTY – Fort Pierce Central High School’s Wrestling Team won its first Regional Wrestling Title since 1995. The 3A Region 3 Champs qualified 11 athletes for the state tournament. Medal of Honor Day at CAST 

Kindergarteners at CAST learned about the Medal of Honor and discussed all the ways we can be good citizens at school and at home. Students read a variety of literature stories and responded to these texts. We promise to be super citizens! 

Medal of Honor Day

The School Board joins Governor Ron DeSantis in extending greetings and best wishes to all observing March 25, 2019 as Medal of Honor Day in Florida. Lincoln Park Academy Principal Henry Sanabria (former U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant) and Port St. Lucie High School Principal Adrian Ocampo (former U.S. Marine Lance Corporal) read the Proclamation. All grade levels in public schools are encouraged to coordinate instruction that encourages patriotism and commemorates Medal of Honor Day.

Measuring Up in Math

Students work cooperatively to apply real-life math skills during math class. Third-grade AMP students in Mrs. Moore’s class at Morningside Elementary used a measuring cup to create a healthy and tasty treat which was a great reward for their learning. Students were completely engaged and committed to working together to accurately read their measuring cups.

Meal Applications

Meal applications are available online for families to complete for the 2016-2017 school year. (This is an application that must be completed each year.) It is very important to have all of this information completed in advance of your child attending school on the first day of school (August 15, 2016). MDA Volunteers at Treasure Coast Food Bank

Mosaic Digital Academy recently participated in the Friends and Family Weekend at the Treasure Coast Food Bank, contributing their time and energy to help those in need in the community. As part of the event, the students assisted in sorting, organizing, and packing various donations, which will provide critical resources to families in need. This volunteering experience offered students a valuable opportunity to connect with their peers, family members, and local volunteers while giving back to those in need. Their involvement reinforced the importance of service and compassion, as well as the power of collective effort in creating positive change.

MDA Team Gets BOLD at Virtual School Conference
