Wellness program manager aims to help employees improve health

Thanks to funds provided by BlueCross BlueShield of Florida, St. Lucie Schools’ Employer Group Health Insurance provider, St. Lucie County School District now has an Employee Wellness Program Manager, Carlye Fabrikant. Welding Technologies Brings in Field Inspector at Performance Based Preparatory Academy

We had a visitor come to our Welding Technology class at Performance Based Preparatory Academy. Joey Graham, a welding instructor at Blue Origin and Welding Inspector, came to visit the welding program to talk to the students about what it is like to be in the welding field. Welcoming New Cadets

On Friday August 9th, 2024, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion aided the incoming freshmen at open house. This was the school’s first event, the following cadets; MAJ Rebecca Guison as right guard, Cadet MAJ Sariely Yanez as state flag, Cadet CPT Alex Franchi as American Flag, and MAJ Gabriela Gomez as Left Guard, were all honored to present the colors. CAST welcomed new teachers with a “STEAM Advocate Snapshot” presentation, as well as a tour of CAST’s beautiful and historic campus. Gaines Academy is honored to announce our new Assistant Principal, Alex Oge.  Mr. Oge is an exceptional Assistant Principal with eight years of experience at Port Saint Lucie High School.  He has served in the capacities of Dean and Science Teacher at Treasure Coast High School and in New York.  He is married and has two school-aged children.  His wife, Guermithe Oge, is also an educator at Weatherbee Elementary. Staff hosted a breakfast and extended a warm welcome to Mr. Oge as he joined our Colt Family our September 21st.

WeatherSTEM Donates Program to Southport Middle School

WeatherSTEM was recognized at the board meeting on June 9th for their donation of the Weather Compass to Southport Middle School.  WeatherSTEM is a fun and educational program that benefits the entire community. WeatherSTEM CEO, Ed Mansouri, is donating a program called Weather Compass that combines a number of products and services to create a well-rounded weather experience. Weatherbee’s Peer Leadership Program

Once a month, Weatherbee Elementary will host guest speakers who are positive and  powerful role models to come in and speak for one hour to students who will benefit from this event. We started October 30th with Dr. Perry as our first guest speaker!
