The Port St. Lucie High School Air Rifle team continues to dominate the virtual match circuit, securing their third consecutive victory against Olympic High School. With a score of 880, eight of those bullseyes, the team showcased precision, discipline, and consistency that reflect their dedication to excellence. Huge shoutout to the amazing Biology Team at Port St. Lucie High School for their incredible creativity and hard work! Port St. Lucie High pre-law students visit college pre-law program

Port St. Lucie High teacher Valerie Arendas escorted 22 students in her Forensics, Paralegal & Criminal Justice program interested in a pre-law course of study recently to Keiser University for a fun, interactive and educational field trip. Students met the judge presiding over a mock case and were sworn in as witnesses, and a jury deliberated the case presented to them. Pictured are the students in the college reception area.

Port St. Lucie High Launches 1st DECA Chapter

Port St. Lucie High School teachers Jasmine Shepherd, Nolan Shepherd, and Brittney Sievers worked together to launch the first-ever DECA chapter. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges around the world. For the first DECA meeting, students came together and conducted officer elections. Students came fully prepared with presentations and speeches. We are so excited for our students who are eager to launch this new experience that will help them reach their college and career goals!

Port St. Lucie High Jaguar Raiders survive the final test

 The Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Raider Team finished the season strong by “surviving” the recent  annual Raider campout.  The Jaguar Battalion Raider team spent a hardy night out at Camp Ah-Ba-Lu-Fa in Fort Pierce.  Throughout the over night campout, the Raiders exhibited their mastery of survival sills.  On the first day, the primary concentration was on shelters and fire building. With the use of their Army survival books, the Raiders learned about the different types of fires and the easiest ways to build them. Port St. Lucie High Jaguar color guard honors veterans

Some of the favorite ceremonies for the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar cadet color guard in which to participate are those that honor veterans. Recently, four Jaguar cadets conducted a color guard ceremony at the Ballantrae Yacht Club in Club Med honoring Staff Sergeant John Quincy Adams, a veteran injured in Iraq. The color guard, led by cadet Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Jacobson, consisted of cadet Captain Alex Seipel, cadet Captain Ryan Monday, and cadet Colonel Diamond Salazar. The cadets executed flawlessly and received numerous words of encouragement and appreciation from the spectators.

Port St. Lucie High Jaguar cadets win essay contest

 Thanks to Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 8058, students had the opportunity to enter an essay contest and win cash prizes. Students who enter can win at various levels, excel to the national competition, and possibly win $30,000 and a free trip to Washington D.C.  Voice of Democracy is the theme of these essays. The Jaguar Battalion Color Guard presented the colors at the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) ceremony recently. The team that presented the colors consisted of cadet Captain Amanda Mabry, cadet Colonel Diamond Salazar, cadet First Lieutenant Devynn Rhodes, cadet Sergeant First Class Sebrina Saladeen, and cadet Private First Class Austin Conkling. The four cadets demonstrated perfection with an outstanding presentation of the flags. Port St. Lucie High Jaguar cadets compete for Outstanding Cadet honor

 The Port St. Lucie High School Junior ROTC Jaguar Battalion recently held the third Outstanding Cadet Board of the Year. The board is a competition between cadets on two levels. The first consists of junior cadets in their first year of JROTC. The second level contains senior cadets who have been in the program for two to four years. Two winners are selected: one from the junior cadets and one from the senior cadets. The Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion Drill Team recently participated with 15 other schools in the Area III Drill Meet at Fort Pierce Central High School for the opportunity to advance to state level competition, and four Jaguar teams were successful. The Male Armed Platoon, commanded by cadet Second Lieutenant Jeremy Dardon, and Male Armed Squad, commanded by cadet First Lieutenant Gerard Delgado, placed first in their respective categories. The Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion helped provide a warm welcome to the students, alumni, and friends of Port St. Lucie High School during homecoming events.  The parade began at Village Green Environmental Studies School and proceeded along Lennard Road to Port St. Lucie High School. The Jaguar Battalion was a distinguished group in the parade. The battalion’s Color Guard, consisting of cadet Second Lieutenant Jeremy Dardon, cadet Sergeant First Class Sebrina Saladeen, cadet Sergeant First Class Kyle Schenck, and cadet Second Lieutenant Andrew Miller, won first place for the parade.

Port St. Lucie High Jaguar battalion retires flags

The Port Saint Lucie High School JROTC conducted a Flag Retirement Ceremony as its annual Service Learning Project. The service learning is similar to community service, but the difference between the two is that after the service learning project, a reflection is done. This year, the Jaguar Battalion retired unserviceable flags. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Mark Rendell attended this ceremony, his first ceremony at a retirement of the flags. The Jaguar Battalion of Port St. Lucie High School participated in the annual parade honoring one of America’s greatest civil rights leaders, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The Jaguar Battalion received many accolades from the spectators during the event. The battalion was led by Battalion Commander Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Amanda Mabry, followed by the battalion Color Guard, the battalion staff and the three companies with their professionalism. Port St. Lucie High School (PSLHS) proudly announces the successful conclusion of its annual Junior Jaguar Cheer Camp, which saw enthusiastic participation from nearly 60 aspiring young cheerleaders. The camp, held over two distinct days – June 24th and July 15th, 2025 – provided an immersive and engaging experience for children aged 5-12, fostering a love for cheerleading and promoting community spirit.
