Lawnwood Leopards Are Enhancing Their Vocabulary Skills

Would you like a cup of vocabulary soup? The fifth grade students from Mrs. Aaron’s Reading class are learning new words every day during their independent reading time. When students discover a new word, they write the word and use context clues to determine the meaning of the word. Students store their word in a “cup of soup”. During whole group instruction, they discuss the new vocabulary words, define the words, and use the words in a sentence.
