First-grade students at Fairlawn Elementary wrapped up Read Across America Week in a fun and creative way! To celebrate their love of reading, students dressed up and participated in a special activity inspired by the beloved stories of Dr. Seuss.
As part of the celebration, the first graders made a delicious snack that looked just like the famous hat worn by the Cat in the Hat. Using a variety of tasty ingredients, students carefully stacked their treats to create the iconic red and white stripes. The activity combined creativity, teamwork, and a little bit of sweet fun.
Students were excited to build their own edible hats and proudly showed off their creations before enjoying the treat. The activity was a perfect way to wrap up a week dedicated to books, imagination, and the joy of reading together.
Read Across America Week at Fairlawn was filled with exciting activities that encouraged students to explore new stories and celebrate the magic of reading. The Cat in the Hat snack was the perfect ending to a week full of literacy and fun.
