Fairlawn Elementary Puts Words on Parade

Fairlawn Elementary wrapped up an exciting and joy-filled Literacy Week with one of its most beloved traditions—the annual Vocabulary Parade! Students proudly selected a vocabulary word and brought it to life by dressing up as that word in the most creative, clever, and colorful ways. From humorous interpretations to impressively detailed costumes, the imagination on display was truly inspiring.

Families gathered in the Fairlawn parking lot to cheer on the parade, enjoying the chance to see students confidently showcase their words and creativity. Smiles, laughter, and lots of photos filled the air as students marched by, celebrating the power of language. After the outdoor parade, the fun continued inside, where students paraded through the building so classmates could enjoy and learn from each other’s vocabulary choices.

The Vocabulary Parade was the perfect grand finale to Literacy Week at Fairlawn Elementary—bringing words to life, building confidence, and reminding everyone that learning can be both meaningful and fun.
