Fairlawn Elementary Celebrates Community Readers

As part of Literacy Week, Fairlawn Elementary proudly hosted Community Reader Day, a special event that brought reading to life in every classroom. Community members joined our students throughout the day, volunteering their time to read stories, share experiences, and model a love for books. From kindergarten to fifth grade, students listened eagerly as guest readers helped make stories engaging, meaningful, and fun.

Community Reader Day highlighted the importance of literacy and the powerful role our community plays in supporting student success. Seeing familiar faces from the community reading alongside teachers reinforced the message that reading matters everywhere—at school, at home, and beyond. The event created memorable moments, sparked curiosity, and strengthened connections between Fairlawn Elementary and the community we proudly serve. Literacy Week at Fairlawn was made even more special through this shared celebration of reading.
