TCHS AFJROTC Cadets Earn Their FAA Part 107 License

Three senior cadets in the AFJROTC program at TCHS–Mateo Franqui, Dominik Heintz, and Alex Antonakos–earned their Part 107 license through the Federal Aviation Administration. By passing this rigorous exam, they can operate Small Unmanned Aircraft (SUAS) commercially and in the national airspace system, opening tremendously lucrative employment opportunities. Their certification and licensing are the result of succeeding in the classroom through two years of dual enrollment classes taught and offered by the TCHS AFJROTC program through Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU). TCHS Cadets Support Area Veterans and “Honor Flight”

On Saturday, October 17th the Treasure  Coast HS AFJROTC participated in a huge ceremony honoring our veterans along with the Honor Flight organization.  Cadets presented our nations colors to kick off the ceremony and then accomplished a flag folding ceremony for the veterans.  Congressman Brian Mast made remarks to the veterans as well, and “challenge coins” were presented to all veterans in attendance.  Veterans were thrilled with the ceremony honoring their service and appreciated the cadet’s efforts to recognize them.  

TCHS AFJROTC Cadets Volunteer at the Treasure Coast Food Bank

On October 6, Treasure Coast High School AFJROTC cadets volunteered at the Treasure Coast Food Bank. Cadets participated in a “drive up” distribution line to provide food to families and then worked in the Food Bank’s warehouse to sort and prepare food for future distribution. The cadets had a great time helping community members impacted by the pandemic and are proud to continue the unit’s legacy of community service while also adhering to all COVID protocols.

TCHS AFJROTC Participates in Multiple Events on Veterans Day Weekend

Treasure Coast High School, AFJROTC Unit FL-20081 conducted several events in celebration and remembrance of our fallen military members on Veterans Day. With two Color Guards being performed consecutively in addition to the Veterans Day Ceremony held at Veteran Memorial Park, many cadets dedicated their time to honoring veterans. Furthermore, all events were attended by a plethora of veterans from every military branch, with every cadet earnestly learning about the unique experiences each veteran had to tell. Lagoon Fest

TCHS Honor Society Supports their Community

On Saturday, October 27th, the Treasure Coast High School National Honor Society sponsored two exhibits at the Indian River Lagoon Festival. The Ladybug Ninjas taught students about the benefits of ladybugs as biological controls, while our Pi-Pirates helped kids solve the mystery of the lost treasure using Pi. Together, they provided over 600 engaging STEM lessons to children in the community.

Halloween for the Homeless

Last week students from clubs across the TCHS campus participated in Halloween for the Homeless. Students went door to door in their neighborhoods collecting non-perishable items for donation to our school’s food pantry, and the Salvation Army. In total, the students collected 1,170 lbs of food, 1/2 a ton, for families in need this holiday season!!  The feedback from the students and community has been amazing, and we are looking forward to making this an annual tradition.  This was a true example of the extraordinary amount of good that our students are capable of when they work together!  #TitanBornTitanBred #TitanPride … Read More

Happy Holidays from JROTC -TCHS

Treasure Coast High School AFJROTC, cadets from Unit FL-2008,  in collaboration with Angel Robertson, the Outreach Coordinator for Congressman Brian Mast, took time out of their class to write letters dedicated to individual troops stationed overseas.  The Christmas letters will arrive in time to deployed troops to wish them Happy Holidays!   Hopefully these letters will make them feel less distant from home, and let them know that the cadets of Treasure Coast High School AFJROTC wish them all the best in the upcoming holiday season.

Treasure Coast High School’s AFJROTC Supports PSL Blue Star Moms

TCHS AFJROTC spent a recent afternoon removing the stars from properly and ceremoniously retired American Flags.  Blue Star Moms are mothers of US Service members who undertake this annual project  to support and encourage service members, especially those overseas. The stars are packaged with a note of support and sent to military members to provide them a token that they can carry in their pocket to remind them that US Citizens at home support them and are thinking about them.  

TCHS Boys Bowling Scores!

The TCHS Boys Bowling Team placed 6th out of 15 teams at the Kegel Bowling Center Tournament! The Kegel Training Center offers bowling training and is where many Bowling pros offer their expertise to young, aspiring bowlers.  TCHS had the highest score for the St Lucie District!  

TCHS Student makes National Merit Scholarship Semifinals!

Officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced Treasure Coast Senior Ryan Lu as a Semifinalist in the 65th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. As a talented High School Senior, Ryan has an opportunity to continue in the competition for a National Merit Scholarship. To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, Ryan must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist level of competition. Treasure Coast High School – Bowling for Bahamas

The Treasure Coast High School National Honor Society partnered with SuperPlay USA to host a fundraiser for Bahamas relief efforts.  A total of 112 Titans showed up to support this event, and funds raised went to Missionary Flights International to help with the cost of shipping the goods they collected.  #TitanBornTitanBred

Treasure Coast High School AFJROTC Hosts Inaugural Patriot’s Day Event

On September 11th, 2019, Treasure Coast High School’s AFJROTC shared their pride with Patriot’s Day Ceremony at the high school.  The ceremony honored our nation’s flag with a flag folding  and flag retirement ceremony.  Additionally, Blue Star Moms and Gold Star Moms were in attendance and honored as well. TCHS students, faculty, and staff attended the event as well as many guests from the local community.

Treasure Coast High School – Bahamas Donation Drive

Clubs across Treasure Coast’s campus united in friendly competition to collect donated goods for those effected by Hurricane Dorian.  Together they were able to pack a pallet to be donated to Missionary Flights International.  #TitanBornTitanBred

International Business Students from Treasure Coast High School attended the 11th Annual Treasure Coast Business Summit (TCBS) — the Treasure Coast’s largest business-to-business summit and expo, providing a networking and educational experience for International Business Academy students to meet business leaders and professionals, learn about current opportunities, and establish relationships for internships, volunteer opportunities, and connections with local sponsors.  

Congressman Brian Mast Visits TCHS AFJROTC

Congressman Brian Mast took time out his busy schedule on April 23rd to meet with the AFJROTC cadets of Treasure Coast High School.  Addressing them for an hour in the school’s auditorium, he spoke passionately about keys to success in life after high school, sharing his own personal life experiences to both educate and inspire the cadets towards reaching their goals.  Additionally, he addressed civic responsibility and patriotism.  It was a huge honor for the cadets to have an audience with their congressman and be allowed to ask him a lot of questions.

TCHS Treasure Coast Homeless Veteran Stand Down

On April 10, 2019 Career Source Research Center hosted the 4th Annual Treasure Coast Homeless Veteran Stand down. The Stand Down brings together government agencies, housing providers, nonprofit agencies, and local businesses to connect homeless veterans with permanent and supportive housing, intensive case management, benefits eligibility screening, employment, legal assistance, and mental health services. Veterans are provided with basic needs, such as food, shelter, clothing, hygiene kits, shoes and blankets.
