Northport Media Center and some of our sixth graders served as hosts to our community partner, Step Up America. John McIntosh spoke to our students about the three branches of Government and understanding the Constitution and Bill of Rights. He reviewed the 1st Amendment which is Freedom of Speech. As part of their Flight and Space curriculum, 8th grade Northstars students in Mr. Fess’ STEM class designed a flight obstacle course. Throughout the day, other students had the opportunity to fly through the course and try for the fastest time.

We are so PROUD of our Northport health aide, Sonja Simmons. Sonja has been named SLPS Health Aide of the Month. Sonja always has a friendly and welcoming smile for everyone. She is kind and patient with the children and is a great team player. Sonja is a terrific asset to our Northport family and she is loved by everyone!

School Community Draws Together

A wonderful program was recently held in the Northport Media Center! The entire fourth grade came together with their teachers to learn about the autoimmune disease, Alopecia. Jeffery Woytovich, a representative from the “Children’s Alopecia Project,” came to raise awareness about alopecia. Students and teachers learned that there are three types of alopecia, or hair loss, Alopecia Areata, which is patchy hair loss, Alopecia Totalis which is majority or total loss of hair above the neck, and Alopecia Universalis which is total body hair loss. Northport PTO Promotes Parent Involvement!

Many thanks to our AWESOME Northport PTO! These ladies have worked tirelessly to make sure that the Northport holiday season was so wonderful. They have prepared desserts, brought lunch from Dale’s, read around the Christmas tree, conducted the morning announcement, worked in the Santa Shop and just so much more! Our Northport community wishes our PTO, our parents, grandparents, students and community members a very festive holiday season!

Northport Students Spread Joy All About the Town!

Rising Stars 1st-4th grade students delivered holiday cheer to the residents at the Port St. Lucie Nursing and Restorative Care Center. They sang holiday songs, distributed homemade cards, and engaged in joyful conversations with the residents. Trenton Scalabrin, a fourth grade student, delighted everyone by playing Silent Night on the piano. He stole the show ❤

Northport Thanks Community Partners

Many thanks to our partners in education, First United Methodist Church of Port Saint Lucie. They brought 400 Christmas cookies for Northport teachers and staff. They support our children and staff in so many ways. The congregation, along with Rad and Pat Orlandi, are true blessings to us all. Northport Thanks Active Duty and Veterans this Holiday Season

Family Homework Is A Success

For homework recently, Mrs. Madorma’s Northport fifth grade students taught their parents how to divide fractions using “Keep, Change, Flip!” They then sent their pictures to Mrs. Madorma through Class Dojo. Looks like Math is fun!  

Northport Celebrates December Student of the Month

Northport Celebrates GiveBack2Kids

Great job to A’aliyah Ventura, Abbi Cartagena, Chase Justin Brown and Colton Martin for being selected as Northport’s November and December GiveBack2Kids Students of the Month. Great job and many thanks to our business partners, James Monds and David Gornitzky, for bringing this great opportunity to the students of Northport. We are fortunate to have such wonderful community partners who see value in supporting student achievements.

Northport Young Chefs Savor Opportunity!

Northport culinary students were guests at the Daytona State College culinary competition. The 8th grade culinary students were spectators rooting for St. Lucie West Centennial High School and Fort Pierce Central High School in the culinary competition, waiter relay and edible arrangements competition. This was a great experience for our young chefs.  

Northport Takes Flight!

Taking flight! 8th grade students in Mr. Fess’ Northstars STEM class have been working hard designing their own airplanes online and constructing them out of balsa wood. Students competed against one another both in an on-line simulator and in real life!        

Northport Hosts Breakfast With Santa
