Student Chefs Delight Attendees

Northport K8 and Port St. Lucie High School Culinary Teams delivered up gourmet tastes that delighted those who attended the Taste of St. Lucie Big Brothers Big Sisters event. Northport’s mini pineapple upside down cakes disappeared as fast as the Port St. Lucie High School’s Crawfish Bisque and Boom-Boom Wontons. Our student chefs were outstanding!

St. Lucie Public Schools Child Nutrition Services Department would like to congratulate Brandon Parks and Shannon Sears of Fort Pierce Central High School’s Culinary Program for winning the first Student Culinary Cook-Off. Their entree, Boom Boom Chicken Bake, will be featured on the 2018-2019 school lunch menu. The purpose of the event was for student chefs to create enticing entrees for the School Meals Program following the USDA guidelines for the National School Lunch Program. Students Earn and Learn

Students learn about the economy in a fun and creative way by participating in the FCEE annual Economic Poster Contest. Each year, approximately 300 students gain a better understanding of our economic system through their participation in this exciting competition. Students learn a basic economic concept and then use their creativity and art skills to demonstrate their understanding of the concept in a colorful drawing. Teachers submit their entries in both the fall and spring semester, after which 12 winners are selected (each term). Entries are judged on originality, creativity, and accuracy of concept. FORT PIERCE, FL – The annual St. Lucie County High School Art Show opens Friday, April 20, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  This years’ show takes place in the Galleria of Pierce Harbor Building located at 100 S. 2nd St. in Ft. Fort Pierce Central’s “Poison Pens” spoken word poetry team won Semi Finals in Jason Taylor’s 4th Annual Louder Than a Bomb” poetry slam. The St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce Foundation congratulates the Young Floridian Scholarship Program Winners for the 2017-2018 academic year. The Young Floridian Award was established in 1988 by General Development Corporation to recognize outstanding seniors for achievement and service to their school and community.
