Central’s College Application Day

Dr. Gregory Dorcelia, ELL/ESOL Counselor and Mrs. Sarah Armada, 12th Grade Administrator, aided by additional translators, hosted the annual college application night at FPC. This event is designed to serve the diverse needs of students applying for college.  Many of the students participating will be the first in their families to pursue higher education.

FPC Yearbook Advisor Back from Boston

Ms. Emily Royo, Yearbook Advisor at Fort Pierce Central High School, attended JEA/NSPA or the Journalism Education Association and its partner the National Scholastic Press Association conference in Boston, MA November 2nd-4th. Ms. Royo secured a grant sponsoring this incredible opportunity. The convention housed 4,662 High School students and advisors from all over the nation to attend expert classes on all things Journalism. The convention’s keynote speakers were three members of the legendary Boston Globe Spotlight Investigative Team that inspired the award-winning movie “Spotlight.” The one-hour classes took place during the day on Friday and Saturday. Cobra Senior Field Day 2023

FPC Puts the Fun into Senior Field Day! Field Days are not just for the end of the year, wind-down in elementary schools. Senior Field Day is a Fort Pierce Central High School Tradition. From outside games of kickball, soccer, flag football, photo ops, side-walk chalking and more, to indoor card games and board games, FPC makes time with friends the memorable senior-year moments that last a lifetime. Thanks to the entire senior teacher team and admins who made this great event for our seniors another chapter in the legacy of Cobra Traditions.    

Fort Pierce Central Staff Cook-Out

  Fun, Food, and Friendly Faces at FPC! Successful academics are not the only thing cooking up around FPC. Central staff enjoyed their second annual courtyard BBQ Cook-Out sponsored by the Admin team. Early Release days are a great opportunity to gather all the teams together for a fun-filled time of laughter, great food, and team-building.  A special thanks to grill-master Mr. Frazier for keeping the coals warm and the food hot! SWAT & Red Ribbon Week at Fort Pierce Central

SWAT (Students Working Against Tobacco) sponsored by Mrs. McKenzie, promoted Red Ribbon Week from Oct. 23 – Oct. 27. Fort Pierce Central SWAT promotes saying NO to drugs and alcohol On Oct. 26th students signed pledges on a community banner, made and wore red ribbons, and posed for positive pictures!    

Central’s Bowlers Compete at State!

All of Cobra Nation is proud of William Auriemma, Christian Whitte, and Coach Rymer of our Fort Pierce Central’s State Qualifying 2023 Bowling Team! The District only takes 2 single qualifiers each year and Central secured both spots. Congratulations Cobras!

Marching Cobras Earn Superiors at MPA

Fort Pierce Central High School Band Program earned Straight Superiors at the District 13 Marching Band Music Performance Assessment at Jensen Beach High School October 28th, 2023.  Mr. Joshua Daniels is the director of bands and the Marching Cobras. The band staff includes assistant band director Emily Morgan, Percussion Instructor Christopher Ketcham, Winds Tech Derek Nierenberg, and Color Guard Coach Leigh Ann Rutter. Fort Pierce Central’s Senior Pinning

Thank you to administrators and senior sponsors for another successful senior pinning for FPC. This year’s celebration took place at the Fenn Center and was a delight for all proud attendees.  

FPC & IRSC Take First at Sunshine Kitchen Cook-Off

On Tuesday, October 24, 2023,  Fort Pierce Central High School senior Aristhene Thelisnort and his IRSC partner Justin Stolaj won first place in the Sunshine Kitchen Cook-off sponsored by the Treasure Coast Education and Research Development Authority. Both students won a 1,500-dollar scholarship to be used to further their education. The winning dish was a Panko-crusted Tuscan chicken roulade with a tomato cream sauce, French pureed garlic potatoes, and sautéed broccoli with diced carrots. Congratulations Aristhene and Justin!  

FPC 2023 HOCO

HOCO as we now know it, or homecoming for many of us nostalgic types reading this, is one of the fall’s most celebrated times in high school. At FPC, moments like the HOCO dance make memories to last beyond a season or year, even beyond high school. Homecoming is a time for union, reunion, and warm receptions. The Fort Pierce Central Medical Academy partnered with One Blood to host a blood drive on Thursday, October 26, in the FPC auditorium. Thank you to the heroes who boarded the Big Red Buses to save lives. Every two seconds someone needs blood in our country (American Red Cross, 2023). FPC Chorus Performs at Stetson Choral Festival

An elite eight Cobra Chorus members joined their director Mr. Martinez at Stetson University’s Choral Festival on October 6th and 7th. What started out as an early morning road trip to Deland, Florida became a trip of a lifetime. Over two days, chorus students worked with Stetson’s husband and wife team choral directors to workshop four arrangements at the festival’s conclusion. Singing for Stetson choirs and listening to Stetson students perform set an atmosphere of engagement, new connections, and mutual admiration. Garden of Shadows Cobra Nation is beaming with pride for our Band Director Joshua Daniels and our Marching Cobras being honored as the GRAND CHAMPIONS of the 2023 42nd Annual Crown Jewel Marching Band Competition! All together our students brought home the Sheila Knight Sammon’s Memorial Award for Best Overall Band in Show. The Marching Cobras also earned Best in Class Music and Visual Performance, Best in Platinum Class, and an overall Superior for Auxiliary and for the Band as a whole! Culinary Cobras Participate in Top Tier Event! The Fort Pierce Central High School Culinary Department’s advanced class contributed significantly to the fundraising event at Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa in Jensen Beach on October 19, 2023. This event was an initiative sponsored by the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association Treasure Coast Chapter to raise money for high school scholarships across the Treasure Coast. Central Honors Hispanic Heritage Month

Fort Pierce Central’s Sunshine Committee, administrative team, ELL & ESOL team, and Culinary Department partnered to celebrate Hispanic Heritage in a big way at FPC! Faculty and staff were welcomed to a uniquely themed luncheon featuring traditional Latin foods and some sweet treats too. Decorations lined the walls of pathways weaving through the auditorium proudly displaying flags, authentic attire, and cultural iconography. FPC is a family representing so many vibrant areas from around the world, all coming together to support each student and colleague, every day. The Cobra way is Once a Cobra, Always a Cobra!
