8th-Grade Strengthen Skills Through Focused Math Practice at Forest Grove Middle School

During the recent 8th‑grade math classroom visits at Forest Grove Middle School, students were actively engaged in independent practice designed to deepen their understanding of key mathematical concepts. Although each classroom had its own instructional approach, several important elements were consistent across all observations. Teachers provided clear explanations, monitored student progress, and offered targeted support to ensure that every learner had the opportunity to succeed.

Ms. Thompson effectively guided students through the “We Do” portion of the lesson, focusing on identifying and calculating interior and exterior angles of triangles. Meanwhile, Mr. Donnelly and Mr. Cancino supported students as they independently applied their knowledge to determine interior angles of regular polygons. Throughout each classroom, students were equipped with appropriate resources—calculators, draft paper, and reference materials—to help them think critically and solve problems with confidence.

The dedication shown by both teachers and students reflects Forest Grove Middle School’s commitment to building strong mathematical thinkers.
