Students, families, teachers, and staff of Lawnwood Elementary School enjoyed a night of learning at Big Apple Pizza in Fort Pierce. Children were greeted with several book options to choose from. They read and completed a reading comprehension task afterward. When the activity was finished, students were provided pizza and selected a beverage with their families. The Girls on the Run Program is so much more than a running club! Participants not only engage in healthy physical activity while developing confidence and learning life skills, but they also learn about the strength of teamwork and helping others. This is something applied and considered each time they meet. The Lawnwood Elementary School Girls on the Run team wrote encouraging notes and made 46 goodie bags for the Pace Center for Girls.
