LucieLink – News and Communications for St. Lucie Public Schools
SLPS Music and Art teachers had a fantastic day of learning, collaboration, and creating during their professional development day on September 23rd. All made possible through a partnership with the St. Lucie Education Foundation and St. Lucie Cultural Alliance. Teachers took textured art, abstract art, monoprinting, paper mache, mixed media, and communal drumming classes. The SLCA was all in for St. Lucie Public Schools! It was exciting to see this happen for these dedicated educators.
Students in Mrs. C’ third-grade class enjoyed a game of Jeopardy to practice solving various math word problems. Way to go Mariners!
Palm Pointe Middle School students celebrated Hispanic Heritage. Students learned of the great contributions of Hispanic Artists and the works of art they created to make their voices heard.
Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers from middle and high school programs participated in multiple professional development (PD) sessions at Keiser University, Tradition Campus. The CTE Educators gained further insight into the articulation agreements, scholarship opportunities, and continuing education from Keiser University representatives (Mrs. Linda Fitzpatrick, Dr. Nicol, and Dr. Reed). Professional development opportunities included Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast, hosted by Ms. Emma Green and Mrs. Katie Thompson.
