SOMS Tri-M Students Road Clean-Up

The Southern Oaks Middle School’s Tri-M Music Honor Society has been busy with a road clean-up and sponsoring the band’s “Coin Wars.” Tri-M students walked 1/4 mile on St. James picking up trash, then carefully crossing the street and cleaning up our campus. We collected 7 bags of trash, everything from old broken pens and pencils, used batteries, to pieces of cars, broken bottles and unmentionables. Southport Memorial Garden

Lynn Hoke, Southport Middle School Science Club Advisor, led students on a weekend event to beautify our school’s memorial garden and transformed it into a butterfly garden. It looks beautiful!!! A fresh work skills opportunity is brewing for students in the St. Lucie Public Schools (SLPS) Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program.  On Tuesday, April 11, a student-run enterprise known as Student Perks will begin selling coffee and pastries in a kiosk on the first floor breezeway of the Board of County Commissioners Administration Building located at 2300 Virginia Avenue in Fort Pierce.   A ribbon-cutting ceremony is slated for 8:30 AM on opening day.
