The Lawnwood campus was buzzing as special vehicles rolled in, and community members took time out of their day to connect with our students. Classes rotated through each visit, learning what it takes to do these important jobs and how each role supports our community every day. Students listened closely as they heard about daily responsibilities, the tools and equipment used on the job, and the training and teamwork required to serve others. They also came prepared with thoughtful questions—and our guests were wonderful about answering each one and encouraging curiosity. We are grateful to Lucky Chu Hibachi Food Truck, FPUA, the St. Lucie Sheriff’s Office, and the firetrucks and ambulance crews from Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie for making this hands-on learning experience possible.
