Weatherbee Hosts Annual Episodic Reading Day

On Friday, January 29, Weatherbee Elementary hosted its annual Episodic Reading Day. The event was a huge success and a perfect ending to the many activities planned for Literacy Week. The Women’s Volleyball and Basketball teams from Indian River State College shared stories with students and talked to them about the importance of sportsmanship and keeping good grades in order to participate in sports. District leaders including: Dr. Prince, Gina Anthony, Teri Barenborg, Kimberly Roberts, and School Board Member Debbie Hawley had a fantastic time sharing their favorite books with our students. The students were especially excited to see the state troopers and meet K9 Piko! The visitors complimented the students’ excellent behavior and were impressed with students following the SAIL expectations. Thank you to the VPK students, Gracie Morris, and the wonderful safety patrol team for welcoming our guests.
