School Meals are an important part of the school day. Not only do school meals provide nourishment and socializing for students, studies show that students who participate in the school meals program are more focused on their studies, absent from school less often, and succeed academically.
Child Nutrition Services is proud to be part of our students’ educational success by providing nourishing meals. We offer many scratch-made items on our menu. Some favorites are pasta with meat sauce made with fresh Florida ground beef from Miami Beef or oven-roasted chicken baked fresh in our kitchens. Every day we offer fresh vegetables and fruits as options for students to choose from our Farm to School Program. Our breakfast program offers students a choice of a hot breakfast entree daily or whole-grain cereal, along with fresh fruit and milk.
Child Nutrition Services also offers our virtual students curb-side grab & go meals pick-up every Wednesday at select school sites. Please view the St. Lucie Public Schools website for location and times. The meal pick-up package features five breakfast meals and five lunch meals that can be reheated at home.
In October 2020, USDA Secretary, Sonny Perdue, announced waivers that allowed all school meals for children to be served free through the 2020-2021 school year. This means all St. Lucie Public School students can enjoy breakfast, lunch and supper* meals for free through the last day of school on June 4.
Parents and students can view our meal offerings on MEALVIEWER our online menu.
*supper meals are served at select school sites for students participating in after-school programs.
