The Annual FPC Staff Spring BBQ: A Cobra Tradition

As the warm Florida sun shone brightly over the campus of Fort Pierce Central High School, the staff came together for a much-needed break and celebration on the last Friday before spring break. The annual Staff BBQ, a tradition cherished by teachers, custodial, clerical, paraprofessional support staff, and administrators alike, was once again a resounding success.

The event, hosted in the Cobra courtyard, brought a sense of camaraderie and relaxation to all who attended. A smoky aroma filled the air as the grill sizzled with a variety of mouthwatering options from Grill Master Mr. Frazier. From juicy hamburgers and hotdogs to perfectly smoked ribs and BBQ chicken, a vegetarian option, salads, chips, summertime sides, and cake, there was something for everyone to savor and enjoy.

Organized by the dedicated FPC Admin team, the BBQ wasn’t just about delicious food. Principal Gardner shared a few heartfelt words of gratitude, expressing appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the staff. “This day is about celebrating the incredible team that makes Fort Pierce Central a wonderful place for our students to thrive,” they said. The speech was met with cheers, applause, and a sign of relief reflecting the spirit of accomplishment as we looked forward to the respite.

Laughter and lively conversations could be heard all afternoon as colleagues bonded over shared meals and the anticipation of a well-earned spring break. Attendees left with full stomachs, joyful hearts, and a renewed sense of connection. The Staff BBQ is a testament to the vibrant community at Fort Pierce Central High School—a school not just defined by its commitment to academic excellence, but also by the warmth and unity of its team.
