Preparing St. Lucie County’s students with valuable internship experiences and supporting local businesses with summer workforce candidates creates a win-win program that St. Lucie Public Schools (SLPS) is happy to support. Career Source Research Coast has once again organized the Summer of Success Summer Youth Internship Program providing paid internships for 130 youth residing in St. Lucie County.
Spearheading the effort from SLPS is Executive Director of Growth Management Marty Sanders. He explained that the SLPS Maintenance Department has supported the funding of summer internships through grass roots fundraising for the past ten years. “We have a vested interest in supporting our students as they pursue their career goals. The opportunity to partner with Career Source Research Coast in this positive effort is most welcome.”
Students ages 16 – 21 are eligible for the two-week Youth Employment Success Solutions (YESS) program and six-week Internship Program. A $100 bonus is provided to participants for the successful completion of the YESS Training as well as compensation for up to 32 hours per week during the internship portion of the program.
Applications for internship opportunities can be found on the SLPS homepage (www.stlucieschools.org) or Career Source Research Coast homepage (http://careersourcerc.com/). For more information about the program, visit http://careersourcerc.com/sos-2017-youth-internship-program/ .
