Thom Jones of the Education Foundation, St. Lucie County extends a special thank you to Paul Jakubczak, Carol Wilson, and Lois Wolfe of the Ft. Pierce Utilities Authority and the Boys and Girls Clubs for launching the first STAR Business Mentor Class! These STAR Scholars will be mentored over the next two years as part of the Program’s efforts to inspire students to graduate work ready. Some students may qualify for a fully prepaid scholarship funded by the Education Foundation to earn an AA degree while working locally. The STAR Program’s goals are also aligned to the supporting positive graduation rates for St. Lucie Public Schools.
