EOC ELA & Math Bootcamp Brings Students, Parents, and Community Together.
St. Lucie West Centennial High School opened its doors to students, parents, and community members for a special EOC ELA and Math Bootcamp on Saturday, December 6. The event was designed to help students prepare for the State of Florida End-of-Course (EOC) Assessments in English Language Arts (ELA) PM2, Algebra 1, and Geometry Mid-Year Assessments for Semester 1. This was a key step towards equipping students with the strategies and content knowledge, helping them to perform at their best.
Parents kicked off the morning with an informative session dedicated to supporting their children’s achievement on the exams. Mrs. Phillips-Hill shared tips, resources, and explained the importance of these assessments for graduation. In addition, topics included how strong EOC results benefit both individual students and the school’s overall grade. The session encouraged open discussion and provided families with practical tools to help students shine for the upcoming ELA PM2, Algebra 1, and Geometry Midyear Assessments.
While parents learned more about the EOC process, students participated in interactive workshops led by dedicated teachers. The bootcamp featured targeted instruction in ELA, Algebra 1, and Geometry, giving students hands-on practice and strategies to tackle test questions with confidence. In particular, the ELA sessions were designed to strengthen reading skills and build readiness for the ELA PM2 assessment. On the other hand, Algebra 1 and Geometry focused on improving students’ ability to solve mathematical problems using the coordinate plane for the Mid-Year Assessments.
Refreshments were provided for all attendees. Smiles, laughter, and a strong spirit of collaboration filled the halls, making the bootcamp more than an academic event, but also a celebration of our school family coming together for we are Eagles: Built to Rise!
