St. Lucie West Centennial High School Shines at Daytona State College Culinary Competitions.
St. Lucie West Centennial High School’s Culinary Arts Academy students delivered an outstanding performance at Daytona State College this past weekend, showcasing skill, creativity, and teamwork across multiple competitions.
The Waiters Relay ProStart team — Ava, Nora, and Dominic — impressed judges with their professionalism, attention to detail, and seamless teamwork. Their polished uniforms and focused execution set the tone for the school’s strong showing.
Meanwhile, the Culinary Arts team — Janiyah, Brandon, Azzi, and Jayden — worked tirelessly in the kitchen, demonstrating exceptional technique and dedication. The students’ hard work paid off: Deni earned first place in the Edible Centerpiece competition, and the Culinary team took first place in Culinary Arts. Altogether, Centennial brought home two trophies and five medals, a remarkable achievement that reflects both talent and collaboration.
Beyond the competitions, the students enjoyed valuable team bonding experiences, including visits to Buc-ee’s and Hull’s Fish Market, further strengthening their camaraderie and school spirit.
This weekend highlighted not only the students’ culinary prowess but also their commitment, discipline, and passion for the craft. With Orlando on the horizon for upcoming competitions, St. Lucie West Centennial’s Culinary Arts Academy is poised to continue making a mark.
