Students from our Culinary Arts Academy enjoyed an inspiring and hands-on learning experience at UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management (9907 Universal Blvd, Orlando, FL 32819), where they spent the day exploring new skills, collaborating, and showcasing their creativity.
The day kicked off in the sushi lab, where students rolled up their sleeves—literally—and crafted their own creations. Their teamwork and creativity paid off as they proudly earned third place in the lab’s friendly competition.
In the afternoon, students participated in a front-of-the-house and sustainability workshop. They impressed UCF staff with their well-thought-out food truck concepts, demonstrating not only culinary passion but also strong communication and design skills.
Overall, the trip offered students an invaluable blend of hands-on practice and real-world hospitality insight, giving them a closer look at future educational pathways within the industry.
A warm thank-you goes to Chef Jay Judy of UCF and Laura Rumer of FRLA for their guidance, encouragement, and support in making this experience possible. Their commitment to student learning continues to make a lasting impact in our community.
