Southport Celebrates Martin Luther King Jr.

Southport Middle School teachers, staff, and students came together to commemorate Martin Luther King’s legacy.  Southport band students, led by Mr. Brandon Pasquence, played a variety of songs. Our cheerleading squad, led by Ms. Jennifer Filippini, performed numerous cheers.  Ivan the Ibis, Southport’s mascot, was represented by 8th grader and student council president, Michael Nevin-Demmons.  Coach Zoerhof, along with several student athletes were also in attendance. The artwork created by Southport’s students, all focused on the theme “Change Begins with Me,” was showcased throughout the float. We’re incredibly grateful to All Florida Looks, INC landscaping company for lending their trailer to Southport Middle School!  Thank you for your generosity.
