SLWCHS’s Criminal Justice Students visit Keiser University

On February 14th, St. Lucie West Centennial Criminal Justice students attended Keiser University.  Speakers included program directors, professors, a current student, and even the university president.  Students learned about the criminal justice and legal studies programs offered at Keiser and the unique way that students take classes and earn their degrees at the Port St. Lucie campus.
Centennial students competed against students from Treasure Coast High School, Westwood Academy, and Fort Pierce Central in an activity that demonstrated the attention to detail required in careers in this field.  This activity was followed by a tour of classrooms and labs. Our students observed classrooms and classroom equipment and resources, as well as university students engaged in ongoing classes and activities.
The field trip culminated with a complimentary lunch of Domino’s pizza. The Keiser University field trip was a terrific experience for students, and we are fortunate to have such a great post-secondary option right here in our community.
