The SLW Centennial NJROTC Black Talon Drill Competition Team competed in the Key West NJROTC Color Guard Competition on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
The competition consisted of 12 teams from 7 different NJROTC units from all over South Florida. The SLW Centennial NJROTC Black Talon Competition Drill Team competed with 2 separate teams.
Team Alpha consisted of c/PO2 Hamel, Nolan (Color Guard Commander, Ensign Flagman), c/PO2 Nestler, Brody (Navy Flagman), c/LCDR Burke, Brittany (Left Rifleman), and c/PO1 Ross, Eli (Right Rifleman).
Team Bravo consisted of c/PO1 Ramos, Jacob (Color Guard Commander, Ensign Flagman), c/LT Ramirez, Brandon (Navy Flagman), c/SCPO Simpson, Deanna (Left Rifleman), and c/PO3 Scott, Lamenthia (Right Rifleman).
Team Bravo finished in 5th place and won a 5th-place “Paddle” while Team Alpha finished in 6th place, a spot away from placing for a trophy.
