The SLW Centennial High School’s NAVY JROTC “Black Talon” Company competed in the Florida State Area 7 Drill Championship hosted by Riverview High School’s NJORTC in Riverview, Florida. The competition took place on Saturday, March 4th, 2023.
The “Black Talon” Competition Drill Team earned multiple awards and represented SLW Centennial impressively as they won the following accolades:
3rd Place Armed Exhibition Drill (Trophy)
3rd Place Color Guard (Trophy)
4th Place 100m Relay (Trophy)
4th Place Overall Athletics, 5th Place Team Push-Ups, 5th Place Team Sit-Ups
6th Place Personnel Inspection
6th Place Overall Drill
6th Place Overall Competition
Also, Cadet Hei Chu earned the 2nd Place Medal for Individual Female Push-Ups!
SLW Centennial NJROTC is the 6th best Drill Competition Unit in the entire State of Florida!
We look forward to improving and coming in 1st Place next year!
