Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Leading the Way: JCLC 2026 Was a Success

From February 13^th to the 18th, 25 of our most dedicated students faced the formidable challenges of the Junior Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC) 2026. This intensive week served as a true crucible, testing the character and endurance of every participant through a rigorous schedule defined by 0400 wake-up calls and the technical demands of rappelling, land navigation, and high-ropes courses. While the curriculum was designed to push cadets to their physical and mental limits, our group met every obstacle with remarkable poise and professional excellence.
The results of their tenacity were nothing short of history. Seven of our cadets distinguished themselves by securing a place in the Top 10 of their respective companies: Abriana White, Chanyah Edmundson, Yaylen Zapeta, Aliyah Adetunji, Sebastian Pereira, Micah Rutter, and Owen Hoke. Furthermore, Cadet Sergeant Hunter Hessian achieved the prestigious #1 overall ranking in his company, a testament to his exceptional leadership under pressure. This collective performance ultimately propelled Charlie Company to earn the title of Honor Company. We are incredibly proud of the JCLC Class of 2026 for their unbreakable spirit and the well-deserved success they brought back to our program.
