On Thursday, March 12, the Port St. Lucie Jaguar Battalion reached a significant milestone by completing the JROTC Program of Accreditation (JPA) inspection. This high-stakes evaluation, conducted every three years, was overseen by Ms. Atkins, an official evaluator from Fort Benning, Georgia. Her presence added a layer of gravity to the day, as she meticulously graded our program on behalf of the U.S. Army.
The morning began with the Continuous Improvement Brief, where our primary staff presented a strategic initiative focused on the restructuring of promotion boards. By ensuring cadets demonstrate true mastery of curriculum before advancing, we have fostered a culture of merit and consistent professional growth. This was followed by the Service Learning Brief, which detailed our battalion’s dedication to civic duty, specifically our recent flag collection efforts and the solemn retirement ceremony held on February 27.
During the Cadet Portfolio reviews, ten representatives across all LET levels showcased their academic development. These cadets were scrutinized not only on specific classroom lessons but also on their comprehensive knowledge of the JROTC program. Their ability to speak with poise and technical accuracy was a testament to the hard work we put in daily. The evaluation concluded on the drill field, where our Color Guard and Platoon Drill Team were inspected for precision and command presence.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Ms. Atkins for her professional oversight, as well as Ms. Telese, 1SG Robert Pollino, and 1SG Ramon Ruiz for their unwavering mentorship and belief in our potential.
The Jaguar Battalion achieved an outstanding score of 99.5 out of 100. This near-perfect result ensures we retain our Honor Unit with Distinction status and the prestigious Gold Star. While we are incredibly proud of this achievement, it simply reaffirms the standard of excellence we strive for every day. We look forward to upholding this legacy until our next evaluation in three years.
