At Parkway Elementary School, we have the wonderful opportunity to be a part of Odyssey of the Mind. What is Odyssey of the Mind? Odyssey of the Mind teaches students how to develop and use their natural creativity to become problem-solvers. Imagine being faced with a problem that requires an original solution. It can be frightening. Now imagine not being afraid to solve that problem – that is what Odyssey of the Mind members learn. This skill and self-confidence will carry over to all areas of their lives.
Ms. Gilbert, our K – 2 ESE Support Facilitator, is the coach of both teams. Both teams performed well at Regionals. Team 1 has advanced to the state competition at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida that they will be attending Easter weekend (March 29 – 31, 2024). Please give both teams a round of applause because they worked very hard to meet this goal in such a short time.
