Palm Pointe Rockets Soar at Beta Convention

Palm Pointe’s Junior Beta members attended the Florida State Beta Convention in Orlando this week.  The National Beta Organization is a service based group that focuses on cultivating the ideals of academic achievement, character, leadership, and service among students. This organization celebrates students who strive to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Students competed in individual and group competitions against other Beta chapters. Our Palm Pointe students placed in 17 different competitions and Laney Keys, one of our 7th grade students, was elected Beta Vice President for the State of Florida. Students placing in these competitions include: Elementary Fiber Arts- Runner Up Third Place, Victoria Zaravellis; Third Place Elementary Drawing, Isabella Perez; Runner Up Elementary Language Arts, Victoria Zaravellis; Runner Up-Elementary Creative Writing, Sebastian Rebelo; Runner Up- Elementary Speech, Gavin Lunsford; Champion – Elementary Social Studies, Gavin Lunsford; Runner Up-Elementary Book Battle, Alyx Hanley, Isabella Perez, and Victoria Zaravellis; Champion- Elementary Science, Jocelyn Hatfield; Runner Up Elementary Technology, Benjamin Arisi; Third Place- Elementary 2D Design, John Bouris; Runner Up-Junior Mixed Media Ava Borgella; Runner Up Junior Science, Josslyn Withrow; Third Place Junior Speech, Dominique Thomas; Runner Up Junior Engineering, Elizabeth Chavez-Munden, Devin Habyan, Hannah Dorval, Addison Moore, and Ava Borgella; Champion- Junior Robotics, Ava Brogella, Josslyn Withrow, Rihanna Garcia, Addison Moore, Ashwin Dhar, and Avis Khatiwada; Champion Junior Service Learning, Ava Borgella, Alexia Morgan, Dominque Thomas, Devin Habyan, Hannah Dorval, and Elizabeth Chavez-Munden; Florida Junior Beta Vice President, Laney Keys.
