Palm Pointe Project Citizen Entry Advances to National Finals

The Project Citizen Entry from Palm Pointe Educational Research School in Tradition will advance to the national finals of the Project Citizen showcase. Due to the pandemic and related school closures, students submitted digital entries describing their selected problem and public policy solutions. Students also recorded presentations sharing details of their project-based learning model. The Justice Teaching Center at Florida Southern College sponsors the state-level Project Citizen showcase.

The entry from Palm Pointe, “Water Are We Waiting For?” tied for first place for the best portfolio for the state finals. Additionally, their oral presentation has also taken first place this year. Both the recorded presentation and the PowerPoint will be forwarded this week to the Center for Civic Education for judging in the national showcase.

This is an outstanding project and we are proud to have it represent St. Lucie Public Schools and the state of Florida in the national showcase.
