They came together with friends, shared laughter, and enjoyed a fun feast of their favorite snacks—just like the Peanuts gang! The day was filled with friendship, gratitude, and plenty of smiles. St. Lucie West K-8 Awarded $2,500 Education Foundation Grant

St. Lucie West K–8 is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $2,500 Working Together for Success grant from the Education Foundation of St. Lucie County. This generous funding supports an innovative schoolwide initiative to strengthen math instruction in grades 3–8 through the implementation of vertical whiteboard stations, a key strategy from Peter Liljedahl’s Building Thinking Classrooms framework. The purpose of the Working Together for Success grant program is to fund creative, high-impact projects that elevate teaching quality and improve classroom instruction. St. Lucie West K-8 Accelerated Math Students Dance Through Geometry

Ms. Selinsky’s 7th-grade accelerated math class turned geometry into a high‑energy adventure with a Dance Dance Revolution–themed lesson on angle relationships! Students literally stepped into learning as the floor lit up with choices representing vertical, adjacent, complementary, and supplementary angles. Each round challenged them to place their feet on the correct angle type, blending quick thinking with quick moves. St. Lucie West Centennial Seniors Walk Through the Halls at Manatee Academy

On Wednesday, May 18, a group of graduating seniors from St. Lucie West Centennial High School walked through the halls of Manatee Academy for the first ever high school clap out. Each year our 8th grade students participate in a clap out on their way to their middle school graduation ceremonies but this was the first time with high school seniors. St. Lucie West Centennial High School’s Nursing Assistant students held their annual health fair recently in the school’s gym. Students in social studies classes, and all Freshman Academy students were invited and were very enthusiastic about attending this informative event. The nursing program students planned for several months to bring 26 community agencies on campus to impart their knowledge of teen health issues. St. Lucie West Centennial High Schools’ Law Academy Hosts St. Lucie Sheriff’s Drone Team

St. Lucie West Centennial High School students from Mrs. Angela Baumgarten and Mr. James Nichols’ Law Academy (Criminal Justice) participated in a live drone demonstration. Members from the St. Lucie Sheriff’s Office Drone team led this demonstration, along with an engaging conversation with students on the use of technology and legalities surrounding the use of unmanned aircraft in law enforcement.  Deputies David Leigh (School Resource, Explorers Advisor, Swim instructor, and Drone Pilot) and Trevor Boyce (Drone Pilot and Road Patrol) were the guest speakers and led the presentation. .

Our culinary students recently enjoyed an incredible hands-on experience at Kyle’s Chicken Place. From crafting creative mocktails to touring a professional kitchen, students immersed themselves in the fast-paced world of hospitality. They prepared their own tacos, practiced proper setup by arranging tables, and learned how teamwork and efficiency bring a restaurant to life. St. Lucie West Centennial High School’s  2021 Graduation May 26, 2021 655 students graduated as members of the class of 2021 from St. Lucie West Centennial High School.   The 2021 Graduating Class at St. Lucie West Centennial High School earned over $4,000,000  in scholarships.   15 Graduates have enlisted to serve our country in the armed forces.   23 Graduates also earned their A.A.
